^^ Haha! Me too! I think the sterling silver pieces really did damage to its brand image.

I also prefer DY now for silver jewelry. Less recognizable and overdone. The cuff bracelets are my favorite! Which tip did you ask for?

Killbill, you are lucky to be getting a refund. My DY Boutique has a NO REFUND store policy:cursing:

I was a DY fan for yrs,and around 1.5 yr ago I took the plunge into their more expensive solid gold pieces. Thats when the love affair ended. I purchased a large chalcedony quatrefoil ring in 18k gold surrounded by diamonds, absolutely stunning two weeks later it was back at the boutique having a diamond replaced. I waited 6wks to get it back when it did it had gauges in the gold from the repair, back it went 6 MORE wks.....sure enough not even a wk into it ANOTHER diamond fell off.

Took it back & this time they charged me for the repair, and yes I waited about 4wks .My salesperson is an absolute gem,and was appalled that the company wouldnt allow him to exchange it(discontinued item would have been at this point a special order) or refund (company policy is NO refunds)

The darn thing sat in my jewelry box for mths until we decided to go to dinner w/friends one night. Well in a very animated discussion I playfully slapped my hand on the table ,and this time the large chalcedony flew out! Thankfully we found it in my friends greek salad:wtf:. I sold the piece of junk on Ebay at a huge loss that same weekend.

Ive also noticed that their recent silver pieces dont have the weight,or attention to detail as some of my older (5-6yr old) items. I have a new crucifix that has been in due to the clasp opening(still opens up).....no offers of exchange,no refunds.I looked at a ring for dh (still a huge fan) recently and the edges of it looked unfinished... $500+ for SILVER, IT SHOULD BE PERFECT! LOL Soooo needless to say Im done giving them anymore money, although I do love my older pieces & when I find some of the cuffs,or two tone pieces on Ebay I go for them:)

My everyday DY pieces are from the original collections, solid, well made, and look wonderful...its the newer stuff I have no interest in NOT to mention the horrendous store policies.

wow....if you get DY at the nordies counter I imagine they would be more inclined to return or echange the pieaces? thats their policy anyway right...and if they carry a designer but dont have a paticular item they will special order it for you......they also do price matching with their competitors...I loves nordstroms

Anyway off topic I see people on here reffering to boyfriends or husbands as "dh" what does that stand for

Nordstrom is held to honoring the manufacturer warranty and not their own. The same goes for the Ed hardy sunglasses they sellwhich only have a 1 WEEK guarantee and the stones are glued in so if you lose one day -8- TOO BAD!
It is a shame that some of these designers are not standing behind their items

I found some pics...loved it,too bad it ended up being such a lemon.I also bought the bracelet, sold it as well.

I will admit some of the items are beautiful,I just dont trust the workmanship anymore & the prices are getting a bit out of hand.

I have five of his pieces, and his jewelry is so elegant, but it still has a modern twist. The only complaint I have is that some of his bangles don't fit my wrist. (They are too big, so I end up returning them.)

You can order his small wrist size bracelets! Thats what I have done and they fit MUCH better! I love Yurman and have been collecting Yurman for more then 10 years and still don't have quite enough! LOL :smile1:

You can get a lemon with anything

I absolutely agree, but Ive been collecting his pieces for years and I do see a marked decline/ difference in the quality through the years. Im sure Im not the only one that has noticed this...especially if they started collecting when he introduced his pieces.

Please understand Im not putting DY down, they are beautiful. I do expect superb workmanship when Im paying an outrageous amount for silver. If I pay close too 3K for a ring I also expect it to hold up a bit better than this one did,and if it doesnt I expect the company to do the right thing.JMHO though:shame:

BTW I do have some of the cookie pieces(well my daughters do),and a topaz acorn and they are favorites. But then they are not recently bought items, actually nothing Ive bought in the last yr Ive kept:(

I have the albion (citrine) necklace and ring, I have a small citrine cable bracelet, the diamond pave ends cable bracelet, the diamond pave X double cable bracelet and I am currently wearing the 14mm onyx ice ring. Love it! Yurman is amazing and so addicting. I went through a phase where I bought one piece a month.....I couldn't get enough. I haven't purchased anything since July so thank goodness that slowed down b/c I am not sure my wallet could keep that up forever. His pieces are timeless and ageless.
