Are Speedy’s Still in Style???

I would say it's not very trendy right now, but it's a stylish and classic bag. I sold my like new Mono Speedy B 30 b/c I never wanted to carry it. However, I have a Multicolore Speedy in Noir and I love that one. It all depends on your style and want YOU want carry.

It's not a flattering style, as it sits wide against the body.
Audrey Hepburn was rake thin so it always looked good on her.
The Alma is a much more flattering style and sits flush against the bod and holds its shape when using a shoulder strap.
Speedy is more casual.
I'm tall and slim and I don't have the Speedy but thinking about it.
I like the slim size more (is it the Papillon? But it's discontinued).

I have a Speedy B35 Mon Mono and it's great as an everyday bag if you carry a bit more. I use mine as my airline carry-on/personal item but also as a sometimes work bag (rotating with my NF's).

I know this question isn't meant for me, but I do use my Speedy 40 as an everyday bag. I love it. Thinking about getting the vachetta replaced because the patina is really dark and the zipper pull is broken in several places. I had to superglue it together lol

Like a few years ago I had a 35 ebene and 40 in Mono, I tended to use the 35 even though I preferred the mono 40 looks wise. I think in Bandouliere Id be more comfortable wearing a 40.

I do use it as an everyday bag, though to be honest not as often as my totes. Personally I don’t feel that it’s too big to be used as an everyday bag, but I tend to carry quite a lot if I’m out for the day and I’m a fan of larger bags. I really like that it doubles as an overnight bag (for me, at least) and it’s also great as a carry-on. It’s the bag I most often reach for if I’m just staying the night at a friend’s place, for instance.

It's a classic. I personally don't like Speedys with the strap. I don't know, it just doesn't look right to me when worn as a crossbody. I truly believe this handbag was meant to be carried.

I’m petite (5’) so speedy B 25 is the best size for me for crossbody or side shoulder-carrying. It does look “fat” when u look at it sideways when wore crossbody but still acceptable if you don’t stuff it to the brim.


Speedy B 25 is the best size for me because it is big enough for me to throw anything in yet not too big that I “overthrow” and makes the bag too heavy. I mostly carry my bag by walking or public transport or for shopping so it’s important that I don’t carry too heavy bags. Some PF-ers mostly travel by car so weight is not such a big issue.

I have 2 speedyB, 25 and 30.

I totally agree with you. Im personally also not a fan of it worn crossbody. I made up my mind and put in offer in for a very used Speedy 40. The Datecode matches my birthday and I plan on having all then leather replaced as soon as I get it.

If im not mistaken. You had your Vachetta replaced too right? How was the process and are you satisfied with the result?

I haven't had the vachetta replaced on my Speedy yet, but plan on it. I had it replaced on my large Noe. Just got it back a few weeks ago and I sent it in in September. So it only took 3 months. Not too bad. It's the timeframe they quoted me so it didn't go any longer.

Ended up being $300 cheaper than they quoted me as well. I absolutely love it. It's like a brand new bag. I bought my Speedy pre loved about 4 years ago, too. So the vachetta on my Speedy is really dark now and the leather around the zipper pull is just torn apart. I have to keep it intact with superglue lol. Mine is from 1998.

It cost $660. They initially quoted me $960, which I was more than willing to pay, considering how much vachetta there is on the Noe. So I was thrilled when they told me it was only $660.

OMG totally agree with u also. I got as push present Speedy B35 in DE , hubbie thought that witb the strap will help me use it crossbody, that time was okay since left hand holding the 2yo right hand carrying the car seat But now, since both of them contained bribery to hold their hands when we walk , I carried the speedy all the time.. Just ordered speedy 25 since 35 mostlt too big when no need to carries whole smallkids/baby-cant-leave-home-withour-them anymore .. Sooo excited to scale down back to size and no strap actually
