Anyone tired of LV...

I try to switch out my bags every 4 weeks but lately I have been debating if I should let go of my Petite Noe NM. I just feel like I am not loving this particular bag as much anymore. There is so much vachetta leather on the bag that I am afraid to wear it out in case I get caught in rain or snow. I don't want the leather to stain. Ive owned the bag since 2013 and have probably only worn it a handful of times. I'm not sure if I would regret it if I decide to sell it.

I am so over Louis Vuitton. It's become ridiculous. Every new bag is aimed at the Asian market. I see the standards everywhere I go and yes, I have some of them and I like them for traveling, but I will never, ever, ever buy another LV bag. Saturated market, ridiculous pricing, boring new trendy bags. I have yet to see a new bag introduced that makes me envious. Okay. that's what I wanted to say! Hahaha!

Ever since Nicolas Ghesquière took over designing the women's collections and Virgil the men's, I've been disinterested in most new things coming out. I was never a fan of off white or Virgil's work before he was appointed to Vuitton, the quotation marks and his entire design philosophy is ridiculous IMO. I think a lot of the new collections/colors/styles are getting kind of gaudy and tacky personally. There are always exceptions (love the Kusama collab and a few select pieces here and there from Virgil's men's collections over the years). I've been setting my sights on vintage pieces that have been well taken care of lately. I also constantly see people talking on this forum and a discord I used to be on about quality issues. My grandpa always used to say: "they don't make things like they used to!" and I think this is very true at LVMH! With all that said I still have my sights set on a damier azur noe bb with a longer strap so I can wear it crossbody - but believe I will be inspecting that bag very closely in store before purchasing!
Edited to add: The Marc Jacobs era was the golden years IMO

I’m not sure why “Asian market” is being thrown into this, but whatever.

I would consider all the new styles as targeting the younger generation, so people my age and younger. I don’t like some of the items because they remind me too much of the bags that existed in early to mid 2000s, when fashion had a very questionable era.

LV has also moved in the direction of having less styles, but producing them in various materials in collectible colors and designs. It’s the Chanel and Hermes approach, if you ask me.

I still like LV. I think they tend to have fun with their accesories, which I appreciate. Things sometimes end up looking super trendy and/or tacky, but that’s what makes it interesting to keep up with. I don’t buy a seasonal item every year, but I like to watch every fashion show.

I think it’s just a matter of personal preference, and possibly how long you’ve been buying bags. I can see if someone has been buying bags for a long time, they’d be tired of endless new releases. But I’m new to luxury so I think it’s exciting how many new collections and fun colors LV comes out with! I never did like their classic monogram/DA/DE, so their vintage styles don’t appeal to me despite people saying the quality was better back then.

Am over LV as well!
most of their latest designs are super duper trendy.
I have had couple of quality issues as well. They have not had massive price increases. like Chanel but you know what
Leather pieces do not sell like their canvas and if they increase prices even more am sure there will be even less sales.

i bought fine jewellery this year and am really enjoying wearing them .. i am also confident no more LV for me ..

I agree with this. LV either puts out childish looking trendy items that are not classics, or they do one pattern in the same few styles (speedy, onthego, pochette, Sarah wallet, victorine wallet). I'm actually excited about a few teases of the new lines coming this spring but the last thing I need is another speedy or victorine wallet. Why won't they give us classy, elegant, well constructed, luxury handbag that works in our lifestyles and wardrobes? And I am not a fan of guitar straps - wish they would give us bags that don't have these trendy guitar straps.
