As much as I like handheld bags, the strap would be nice to have as an option. That said, I love vachetta on LV. Years ago I bought the Babylon due to more vachetta. That was also a workhorse bag. One must be prepared to face rainy days that fall on vachetta, when I was younger I was mortified at the water spots. Now? Meh. Maybe because all the vachetta on my LVs is aged anyway and the spots don't show as much, I intend to use my LV bags in all weather conditions. In general I baby my things, but not to a prissy butt extent. In a way, kind of like cookware. My cookware is great, heavy copper, etc, I must have spent tens of thousands on my cookware collection, and I use it hard but not abusively. Of course they got the nicks and scratches, but that's why they exist--to take hard use and get passed down to another generation. LV bags are kind of like that, IMO. They can take a lot. Vachetta and all. I have an old LV Deauville and a Saumur. They've seen better days so it was fun to repurpose them into handgun bags that I take to the range. I know it's a silly and maybe eccentric thing to do, but since LV actually made a hunting bag for actual hunting, I think of repurposing those bags for another use isn't a bad idea.

I love the shape of the Speedy. I have two. My first LV bag was the classic monogram Speedy 25 and she is still my go to bag and I have the Azur Speedy 30 classic (which I don’t use that often and she is still in pristine condition). I highly recommend the Speedy!! I’m eyeing off the new Speedy 20…
I own a monogram Speedy 40 and love it. I love that it's bigger and schleppy looking. My vachetta is a dark honey which I love. It's old and I've had it for many years. I think it's older than my daughter lol. I actually like that I don't see the Speedy anymore. There was a time that I was going to purchase the NF, but decided against it when I started seeing them everywhere. I have the Noe, so I really don't need another large shoulder/tote bag.

I sent off my Noe to have all of the vachetta replaced as well. How long did it take before you got it back?
I still use my classic speedy 30 DE. I'm not a bag collector, so I use all my bags in a rotating cycle. So I do use it about every 3-4 months. I do see this bag often around my city. Well the classic speedy and the neverfull are both well loved in this area.
I sold my monogram Speedy 30 ages ago. My Speedy was my first LV bag, and I wore it a lot, not rotating it.
I still see Speedys all around my city. I see them at family gatherings, and several friends carry theirs as well. I think Speedys will always be around. Someone will always bring their Speedy.
I see way more Neverfulls when I venture out. I like my bags to have zippers, or some sort of closure. I've never purchased one.

Yup. Classic speedy fan here. No organizer either. I prefer the feel of VVN and the look of clean canvas without the leather support strips on the side. It fits on the crook of my elbow if need be. I have attached a strap the old fashioned way onto the handles from time to time and no damage going on 40 years. The patina of high quality leather really takes care of any surface blemishes and it is so care free, more so than the treated glaze leather IMO. VVN just needs time and patience to show its true beauty. Keepalls are a whole other story as I consider them luggage. Handbag wise, I am a classic top handle girl.

I love my speedy 25 that I replaced it after I bought my first (then sold it a few years later). Problem is I don’t feel like I carry it like other people do (if that makes sense?!). Plus the lack of strap is a problem. Might have to sell it for the second time.
I’m actually playing around with the idea of getting a classic speedy, no strap. The look and feel of just handholding is so cute and chic. I’ll try using it as such with my b25 and see if I can handle not being hands free first. I’m kinda attracted to a 30 with lots of sag.
I may be in the minority, but I love my classic speedy(ies). They hold a lot, are lightweight and very easy to carry - all while looking great! I have a 35B that I use for travel (and use it or other crossbodies if I have a planned day of shopping where being handsfree is helpful), but for daily use I prefer my classic speedy.
I have a mono speedy 25 and a pre date code vintage Speedy 30 that I absolutely adore. I have a Speedy B 30 as well, but there’s just something extra special about going back to basic.

Not sure if I actually posted pics after picking up my Speedy 30 from LV. As it turns out the next day I saw that my zipper was ripped and LV never double checked. My SA was amazing and they replaced the zipper for free but kept my original pull tab. Gotta love the LV service.
I just re-discovered my OG speedy 30. Definitely a bag to keep in the collection forever since it's such a classic piece!
