I just saw a woman with hers out in the street today. It looked well loved and I was reminded of how roomy and functional the speedy is. I have one in DE that hasn't been used in a while. I love to wear it with casual looks.
My question to Speedy (not Speedy B) owners here: Does attaching a shoulder/crossbody strap to the handle hardware make the bag sag or hang strangely? I saw someone carrying what appeared to be the 30, she had the strap attached that way, and it looked awful. The bag was hanging in an odd manner and sagging all over the place. I ask because I plan on either a 25 or 30 in the future and can't decide if I should get the classic version or the "B". I will not carry a bag that is hand-carry only, so I'll need to decide.

I carry them at least a few days a month, I use the old “speedy hack with a vechetta strap on handles”…. Actually prefer that look to the “b” ( although I have a few LE speedy Bs)

I sold 2 speedy 30’s in monogram, my first one was misshapen and had very dark handles from oils and use….then I got a brand new one and after 3-4 years of use; same thing, misshapen and black handles…so I sold that one too and will not buy another speedy! My friends demier ebene speedy on the other hand keeps shape and remains in mint condition even with regular use…so I’d choose that over monogram!
I have a classic 25 in black epi I received as a hs graduation gift 1994. while she doesn't really see the light of day to often I love it so much. This may be the bag that goes to the grave with me, that may be more for the sentimental value
I have mono Speedys 30 and 35. I sold the 25 but still liked it. They are indestructible. I think of the 35 as a tote considering all the stuff it can hold, and I like hand held bags in general. I think they've been around so long that they're considered "classics", (the Speedy 30 was introduced in 1930!) my guess LV will still be selling them many years from now.
Do you like your classic 30 or do you feel like you wish it was a b? I just don’t know if there is too much vachetta on the b style.
