Anyone received the Feather Charm?

It was stated by some SA's and CS's that the leather feather set was/is supposed to come with some bags and with other bags it would be a free gift while supplies last......which is NOT a good idea anyway.....but because people were purchasing them their supply dwindled down to only a few hundred.

So instead of just selling off the remaining feather fobs so that most everyone had a chance to get one, they are only allowing 'select' purchases at 'select' stores by 'select' customers to get a free set, thereby further alienating customers, making them mad and causing downright hurt feelings over those damn pieces of leather.

And we're not even going to get into the fact that it seems that the US customers weren't supposed to get any of the metal feather fobs either......

Thank you. I agree completely. A very very bad move on Coach's part especially with the much increased price points on the Vever collection. Although I was not one of the 'select' customers to receive the fabled fob with my rhyder 33 purchase, I did get 25% off so I feel a slight vindication.

Sorry, what's KOP? Mine didn't come with a feather fob either, and my SA just told me that it's offered only at select flagship stores too. I tried calling JAX twice, but they answered the suede 33 Rhyder is not supposed to come with the fob. This whole feather thing is a serious mess!

I'm sorry, it's the abbreviation for the store at King of Prussia Mall in PA. There are two Coach stores at that whole mall area, one in the Court (KOP I) mall and one in the Plaza (KOP II) mall, and it's the Plaza KOP II store that has the collection pieces. They have pretty much everything.

Let me explain since I was/am honestly clueless over this whole feather fiasco! All of the upper end Rhyders at KOP had the feather fobs on the display bags, and I was told the bags came with the fob...or that's what the SA indicated when I mentioned that it came with the fob and it looked good on the bags, so unless she didn't realize they were stored without the fobs in the stockroom, then they had the fobs on the bag. While I was there, I asked about an extra fob as GWP (like the metal one) and was told they never got them separately but certain bags just came with the leather feather fob and others didn't. I didn't press her which specific bags then because it was my local store who partnered with a flagship store to figure out which bags came with it when ordering, and I had already gotten that info before I ever even went to KOP. You know, the thing is, I could have walked out with the bag (not the Rhyder, but I bought another bag) that DID have the fob on the bag at KOP, but I chose to order from my local store out of loyalty to someone who works there. That's the ONLY reason because I really like to pick out my own bags, and I don't really like waiting for shipments. TBH, after very bad experiences with Coach's shipping practices and UPS, it was really hard NOT to walk out the store with the bag!

TBH, I'm ticked over the shipping for this bag as it is. It was supposed to ship out Monday, and it just shipped out today. My SA had 2-day shipped it (I didn't ask for special shipping or anything, but she just did that herself). Apparently it has been rescheduled for delivery tomorrow instead of Friday, so I'll have it tomorrow (hopefully).

Trust me, if my bag does not come with the fob, it's going right back to the store, and I think I'm done with Coach if that happens! I can't deal with complete crazy, and this has gotten beyond ridiculous with something simple! They need to both advertise and sell what they have to sell, period! They should not be excluding random people here and there with the fob, show some pics with the fob and some without unless it's mentioned you can purchase separately (or whatever), and I don't care what they say at all.... They may not have had enough to go around, but the bottom line is they should have never EVER uploaded this inventory if they weren't willing to sell the fobs. Why were the fobs even in the inventory system?? Why did they have tags with price codes?? Oh.... yes, they probably got accidentally unpacked and nobody was the wiser and just uploaded them to the inventory. Somebody there majorly dropped the ball. I talked to a SA who had a customer that got her fob recalled too. I think that part of this whole thing really stinks. It's one thing to cancel an order, but to completely ship it out and then recall it while in transit?? Not to mention why are SOME flagship stores better than others??? So unless I live in Swankville, I'm not good enough to receive the fob??? I really DESPISE the message Coach is sending with all of this! As I said in another post, I am all about equality and consistency!

Not to mention it's also VERY apparent that communication issues weren't discussed during the whole Coach rebranding project!

Anyway, sorry to go off on that, but if I were you, I would call that store since I know they showed it and ask what would happen if you ordered the bag from them? Would you get the fob?? At least it used to be that you could call and purchase directly from a store and have them ship you the bag. It's probably not their preference necessarily to deplete store stock since it's available in JAX, but it's worth a shot. That would be my next move.

We already know that some ladies have ordered the upper end bags (including the Rhyder) and actually received the fobs just recently, so they have some left obviously, but I wonder if it's now at the point where just some of their units in inventory have the fob and others don't. I assumed that it came on the bag, but since it's packaged separately, it's hard to know whether it's with the bags in the stock area or separately? I remember I did keep asking my SA because for the colorblock, the large photo showed the fob, but the stock photo did not, and at one point I thought I would buy that so I wanted to make sure. I was assured it did come with the fob and that's when I was given a list of bags that had it.

I think she means King of Prussia. They used to have two boutiques. (Do they still have two now, or have they closed one? I know the one across from Vuitton is still there, and has actually moved closer to Vuitton. Don't know about the one in the Court though.).

Baglady, is KOP a flagship? Plaza or Court? That would be news to me. :thinkin:
.

It's actually an older mall part plus a newer one (Court and Plaza). The Court store (KOP I) is a small more or less core store and the Plaza store (KOPII) is/was a gallery/flagship store. It was one of two gallery stores in the area to feature the Bleecker St. LE line that was rolled out at the Legacy Store on Bleecker St in NYC...remember that stuff?? Peytons, etc. The KOP version came later than Short Hills, I think, but they closed it and remodeled it to be a gallery store at one point. It has since become a "collection" store, and it has pretty much all of the Vevers stuff. I also asked about whether KOP I (Court) would close and was told they don't know, but most likely not. Apparently they have enough business to justify two of them, but it's a waste of time visiting the Court store unless you're looking for one of the basics that they don't have at the other store.

If it matters to you... you can likely check your shipping invoice (via email) for the fob before you receive it... mine had it listed along with another item that wasn't named- so in total three items listed on the email instead of just the bag I ordered. The fob was *not* on my initial order email.

Thank you so much! No, mine does not show the feather fob listed on the email. I also had to search the invoice down since they sent the email to my husband's work address instead of mine. Our info is messed up too. Thanks for your help in understanding this! For sure the bag is going back then!

Yeah, I do remember it as an old mall, with a newer mall built next to it later (now treated as one big entity overall). I grew up near there, and I actually remember when they had those big flags hanging along the old, center escalator section. The flags went up for the American Bicential, I think, and were up for years and years. I was a child at the time, and still have visual memories of riding the escalator with all those flags overhead. :)

But let me get this straight then, about the difference between their two Coach stores ..... the one across from LV actually *IS* a flagship? I honestly had no idea. I've been in it ... was in it only a few weeks ago ... and I know it's particularly large. I had no idea it was official flagship though. I have to admit, I'm going to pay closer attention next time. Big thanks for that revelation. :) :) I really had no idea!

So has anyone figured out which Rhyders are shipping with the fob? When I got my gunmetal 33 (that I returned due to cheap ugly leather) it did NOT come with a fob

WOW, I don't remember those flags, but I guess I wouldn't have missed them even if I were in my own world! I'm not sure I remember how long I've been going to that mall, but I know I haven't there in probably 2 yrs till this past weekend (started going to Short Hills when the Reed Krakoff store opened, but now that it's closed, no motivation!).

Y'all know WAY more about Coach than me at this point- I've pretty much moved on from Coach and have only bought a handful of bags (mostly outlet) over the last year or so. But in the past at least, yes, the Plaza Coach store was a flagship. My fav SA of all time worked there years ago, which is how I started going there, and I shopped on and off before and after the remodeling for the gallery store concept (where they made it shotgun style). I don't remember if I shopped there before they expanded the store or not, but anyway, I don't know if they still use the flagship designation, but for sure they are a collection store now. I was told all that this past weekend, and they have everything. They've had a lot of turnover of SAs and management, and I'm going to guess I probably only know a couple of the people that are there now. One of my favs, and who I shopped with on and off after my original SA left Coach, moved to the Court store. I'm really surprised they have had two stores all these years, and also because they are so tiered. It may be that Court Coach overall has more basic items, but there was never any motivation for me to hit the Court store! At one point even that Macys had higher end Coach bags than the Court Coach store did. That always surprised me too. Now it's only selling the basic bags too, I noticed. It's not much better than my local Macys at this point.

So I finally went for the so-called VIP Launch Party at my local flagship store in Singapore. It was so-so. They showcased all the latest bags, clothes and shoes with models walking around, cocktails and hors d'eurves.....

They had a special 15% off everything in the store during the party but I wasn't interested as I had already gotten my bags earlier.

As for the feather charm, what the SA told me was that if I get any Rhyder 33, I'll get the normal $50 feather charm. Some of the Dakotahs and the Tatums also come with it as revealed by some of the TPFers lately.

Sadly, I didn't receive any gifts from Coach other than that 15% discount. Was hoping to at least get the charm or a key fob or something...... After all, there were just about 50 people in that store.... The least they could do for their VIPs who shop with them regularly.....

My bag DID come with the feather, but it was already attached to the bag...no special box and was not listed on the invoice. However, I guess this may just be for the Rhyders? No clue, but my bag doesn't show the feather fob in the stock photo either. :shrugs:
Well that's good. Are you going to keep it?

Oh I'm glad you got it!! Very odd though. My feather was boxed separately (and very nicely) with a card inside the box mentioning it was a gift from the fall 2014 collection.
