Anyone received the Feather Charm?

Yeah at least mine was not on the delivery truck and sent back, never in my life have I heard such a thing. My dentists office offered $1500 off of braces. It was only supposed to be $150. But they ate the cost of the people who signed up for this offer and sent out another message saying it was mistake, should have been $150 but as gesture of good faith they would offer $750 off. But they did honor the $1500 for several patients who made appts to take advantage of this before the mistake was caught.

Really, I mean how many people ordered this fob that they could not honor orders already placed? Heck, already out for shipping!!!

I have never heard of Coach having VIPs. Of course I am sure I don't qualify as my buying has been down. But I have only heard of 25% PCE discounts not a 10% VIP especially an ongoing one. Are you located outside the US perhaps? You will have to let us know about the feather charm.

Someone who got the $60 all packaged to the nines, I would love to see photos of the packaging

Maybe this VIP Program only applies to Asia.... But it started about 2 or 3 years ago. My SA told me spend SG$1000 and become a Silver Member and within a year if you spend an extra $1000, you become Gold. Gold gets 10% discount all year on anything.

So it's quite easy to become a Gold member. The regular Rhyder that I got was $895.

By the way, I'm living in Singapore. And yes, I will let you know if I do get any VIP gifts that night!

Sorry I hope you did not take offense. It is common here to say Asian exclusives when it probably refers to just China and Japan. Same is true in the US, say we found something on the Japan site we liked, we cannot purchase either. But I hear you on the prices.....crazy!!!

No I didn't take offense! : )
I think Coach is a bit mad as well!!!

Lololololololol

Coach is walking on coals. There's some widely distributed research on making items very limited and in conjunction with that, offering snobbery as means of customer service. The research suggests this will really drive up sales. Apparently, when SAs convey the attitude that you can't have something or, worse, that you can't pay for it, our psychological need for that peddler's wares is spiked.

If this is what they think will work with current Coach loyalists or average customers, they've way over generalized the research. The demographics that apply to this market psychology don't seem to align with Coach's customer base demographics.

Actually, the list of how new mgmt is applying market psychology to new Coach policies and campaigns , and how they misalign, is lengthy. No wonder, so many of us shake our heads at how it appears they are throwing clay at a wall. They are.

I had a great relationship with SAs at my store, as I've shared here. Then on came a new asst mgr who conveys a snobby type attitude....I kept thinking it was just something that caused me not to " click" with her. But now I wonder if it's something beyond that. Personally, I really don't like going there anymore if she's there, which is often. So my personal response is "shop elsewhere." I don't need to pay thousands upon thousands to have this person act that way with me. Once, shame on her. But now it's twice and if I go back for more of that, then shame on me. And if it could happen to me, it could happen to others...and so on and so on. Just like this feather fob fiasco. Though this didn't happen to me, it could have...or might next time...So in that sense, it's as though it happened to me, as I read here what happened to other loyal clientele.

This whole fiasco is more clay on the wall. It fell. Hopefully, others who don't need to be allured to items with snobbery or continued limited edition, "hands off, it's not for YOU" methods will get it, too. It's a feather on a stick, and they are trying to get you to believe you are not worthy of it. Will you let them say that, as you hand them your money? Do you feel more worthy now that the feather is en route to you? Does it make you worthier? And the nasty customer service--is it just leading you to want the feather more and, if so, consider carefully-- WHY?

Stay well and prosper, Coachies. Thanks for many years of great fun here. I've really enjoyed my time here on the Coach sub forum on tpf. I really have.

Wow, I just read through the last few days on this thread. What a mess!

I can certainly understand everyone's frustration!

I understand how mistakes happen, but they definitely need to be apologetic about the mix-up!

On a side note, I emailed CS asking if the colored hang tags that are in the Fall Ad Campaign would be available for sale and was told they were for "advertising purposes only". Made me laugh.

Remember back when the Borough was first released and shown with a long shoulder strap and then arrived with a much shorter strap? Coach is LEGENDARY for mis-steps like this!

So I went to the China website and put an expensive Rhyder 33 in my cart and there's the feather fob/charm gift:

Haven't some of the financial articles about Coach in the last year talked about the growth potential overseas? It does seem like recent changes don't point towards winning/keeping the North American customers.
The only 'New York' vibe I can identify with was the recent concert.
