Has anyone had a jeweler give them a hard time setting moissanite? I have a stone I want to remount into a setting that does have channel set diamonds in it and at first the jeweler was like "ya-ya that is NO problem." Then I sourced the stone I wanted doubled checked the certificate with what is etched on the stone and the jeweler gave me a hard time about the fact its moissanite. Now I am looking for another jeweler to set the stone.

Oh, hope I don’t have a hard time! Come to think of it, I went to one jeweller with a lab diamond and he said he wouldn’t work with it without even looking at it…but he was just a jerk in general and I’m definitely not going back to him. Another worked on a created sapphire without any problems so guess it just depends on the individual.

i did finally find a jeweler to reset mine - he was amazing. I think the difference is that he is a small independent jeweler. He had no issue replacing the center stone in an existing setting. He did not charge me a ton and even got in to me a week sooner than promised.

Great! Working with moissanite shouldn’t be so different from working with a diamond (heat wise).

It wasn't and honestly I could not figure out what the issue was when all I needed was to have it set in a semi-mount I had both the mount and the stone. The biggest part of the entire process was to switch the baskets to accommodate the bigger center stone.

I have 2 new pairs of earrings…
The first ones are 3 mm inside out hoops. I have on my jewelry want list a pair of diamond hoops, but I loved these when I saw them. They’re just rhodium plated silver but they look incredible! I still want gold ones, BUT I don’t know if I’ll get them soon because they would be a special occasion piece and I don’t want to spend the money right now; I just commissioned a new gold necklace, I’ll have to wait for a new expensive piece! I wore these 2 days ago to a movie premiere and I felt really great in them. One of the ladies I was talking to kept looking at my earrings!
The second pair are climbers, also in sterling silver, and they are more casual. I just got them but so far I like them. If they become favorites of mine I might replicate these in yellow gold with my personal jeweler. I really like the look.

Its so hard to get pictures - they do not do the stones justice. The center stone is a moissanite - certified D with an exceptional cut. The side stones are mined diamonds - the band is all moissanite

Are these too big in me?
I bought 3 mm moissanite flower cluster earrings. They were yellow gold (I wanted white gold), and though I liked them, my mom said they were too big for my ears. I gave those to my mom and bought 2 mm ones… those were too small
I repurchased the 3 mm earrings in white gold, but I don’t know if they are too big for my ears… what do you think?
The earrings themselves are perfection, sparkly and clear. Pics, as always, don’t show moissanite’s brilliance and fire!
I have attached pics with the 2 mm earrings and the 3 mm earrings for comparison

I bought a pair of Sterling silver ear cuffs. They are pretty by themselves but I don’t know if I love them on me. It may be the color as I’m all about yellow gold now. Here they are with my other moissanite earrings.

I think they look great. I might try them the other way around though, with the bar behind your ear?
