I have 3 that I am enjoying and hopefully the pics will come through. One I wear most of the time I wear as my E-ring, the others are just for fun. One? White, one dark greyvsnd one blue-green.[/QUOTE]
Wow! That gray!!

I have a solitaire that was purchased online more than ten years ago. It doesn't sparkle like a diamond and has a milky slight green tinge. I really don't like it and haven't worn it much. It was a disappointing purchase for sure.

I had the same experience about 15 years ago. I bought a solitaire (Charles and Colvard) and it was awful - dull, with a sickly yellow/green tinge, nothing like the promotional videos the company had. I sent it back and haven't thought about moissanite again. I must say the stones in this thread look really lovely though, so I'm guessing the technology must have improved a good deal since then.

Hi all! I've recently been in the market for a pair of diamond/diamond alternative studs and recently began to consider moissanite! I've only ever purchased diamonds and still adore them but found myself disillusioned with the lack of transparency regarding origin, ethics, and pricing. Love your beautiful rings! Does anyone here have any experience with moissanite earrings or can just compare the aesthetics of moissanite compared to diamonds in general? Super new to moissanite and wanted to soak up as much knowledge as possible before I dive in. Thanks so much!!

Bump.

Curious about this for my travel rings. At first I explored the CZ route, but the stone impact is so poor and I don't want to waste any money on something that does not sparkle. I look at CZ and just know it's not a diamond immediately.

Moissanite keeps coming up in my search to find a duplicate of my wedding band.

What does your wedding band look like? Hop over to the Charles and Colvard website. Their moissanite collection is amazing. I would recommend only buying from Charles and Colvard. They created the stone and it's only gotten better over time. It's my favorite place to ogle jewelry even though I'm not in the market for any these days. Lots of other jewelers sell moissanite, but I'd stick with the C&C brand products.

Thanks for the reply! I found C&C through my searches, but with the pandemic eliminating travel for the foreseeable future, I'm not pursuing a stand-in travel ring at this point. Maybe once the world reopens I'll get something to please my insurance company (when I had it insured, I declared that I will not wear it for international travel), but there's no point now. Back in April, I don't think I realized how many years it would take to get back to normal.

My ring is a round diamond eternity band set in platinum. Apparently I haven't recently taken any decent shots of it, so here's what it looks like from another post I made a while back.

First: Congrats! I suspect there well be a COVID related baby boom the way things are going.:giggle:

I get it with the travel issues too. DH retired on January 31. We were put on lockdown two months later. Really messing up our retirement plans.

If you want to have a look, I did a search of their eternity bands. They do have two in platinum, but your ring looks like it has larger stones. If you do decide to get one, definitely pick the Forever One DEF color stones. Much more sparkle than the GHI color.

Thank you! Truthfully, my husband and I have been planning for and anticipating this baby for years, but I'm sure our child's classmates won't all have the same story of how they so carefully came to be. Hah!

Thank you even more for the search! I guess I have qualms about spending well over $5000 on what is basically a fake diamond ring. That's just my hangup, and it might be because I've never (to my knowledge) seen a moissanite in person.

Congrats on DH's retirement. Hopefully, for all of us, we get through covid safely and can return to traveling the world -- with or without our sparkly jewelry.

Honestly, unless someone's diamond budget allows D Flawless diamonds, moissanite puts diamonds to shame. You can signal jet airlines flying overhead with a moissanite.

I wanted to get a ring I could wear without worrying if I lose it but still enjoy size and sparkle. Here's my new mossy!
