anyone going to line up for wii or ps3

I was curious after hearing all these horrible stories about people lining up, getting shot at, getting into fights, getting trampled, etc so I went and checked eBay. I happened to see a couple of PS3 auctions end. One was sold for $2950 and the other $2895:wtf: :wtf: And some crazy listings from this morning were for $8, 9 even 10K!!!!

There were a few on ebay - one ended up around $90,000. It was a fakeroo and was deleted soon after the end.

My question is - if Sony is limiting production to 400,000 units because there are "problems" - why would anyone want one of the first batch?? Ga I would never buy a first year production car - why would anyone want a playstation if issues were there?

haha the morning it came out i was watching GMA and it showed a bunch of people rushing in to a store i dont know which or where but there was a woman using a mini denim pleaty. made me wonder if it was any of our Louis Lovers here on tPF ;)

SO got the last preorder at an EB Games here. He just called and they had that last one so he rushed over to pre-order it - no lining up or anything! We were sooo lucky! I can't even imagine spending the night in this weather, and some people got trampled, mugged and even shot!!!:wtf:

Anyway. We picked it up yesterday, he listed it on craigslist, it didn't take 12 hours for it to be sold! Now he says the profit I can use to buy a new purse!!!!:yahoo:

He was also able to order from amazon, this time he's keeping it:yes:

We got the wii at midnight. EBGames was the only one in the area that we know of that had a midnight release. Everywhere else we drove to (we were trying to see if we could find another controller), people were camping out.

I got the Wii this morning at ToysRus. Last night they said they weren't going to open the doors til 10am. We got there at 7am and they starting letting 2 people at a time enter the store at 8:15. We were the 34th in line and when we got ours :yahoo: they only had 4 left. When we left the store the line was still huge. I wanted to let the people in line know that there was only 4 left, but I thought someone would jump us

my teenage son set his alarm for 6:30 am this morning to grab a wii at a local discount store opening at 8. Usually I make him hook up his systems to basement TV but he was so excited, I had him set up upstairs. ( main family viewing TV!)
I love his Wii. I've been playing Wii tennis and its great! The controller is very cool. You use actual movements! (EX. you swing the controller to hit a tennis ball) I dont know exactly how to explain it but you simulate real sports movements with your controller to play. My husband HATES vidio games but had a blast with Wii baseball!

We pre-ordered the Wii last month at Electronics Boutique. They were supposed to have a midnight release and called us early in the evening saying it was cancelled. Daughter was a little bummed out. She wanted to pick her's up on her PJ's!

Anyway, hubby and I got up this morning and went to the mall. The line was over 70 deep for those that didn't pre-order.

They escorted us to a second line where there were only 4 other people waiting who had pre-ordered. They let the pre-order people go in first of course. We bought an extra nun-chuck controller, the Zelda Game Guide and Super Monkey Ball (game) so that she would have another game other than Zelda.

Seamless transaction for us but I feel sorry for those who didn't pre-order. There were only three registers in the store and I'm sure some had a VERY LONG wait!

Hubby is boxing as I type! Sweating like a pig! LOL!
