beautiful! thank you for sharing  do y’all purchase your chains from marla aaron as well? her chains feel a bit overpriced to me so i’m looking at some other compatible options
Agreed the gold are very pricey - I got a fine curb chain that I wear daily - that was also in the photo I had sent. I opted to have a jeweler make me my own handmade biker chain with gold I had already had - and it was a huge cost savings bc I only paid for labor. You can find biker chains from other places that are cheaper and still give you the look. I really like the fine curb I got from Marla. It’s dainty but still is functional. You can also take any of your other chains and have them converted to loops by a jeweler. I also love the look of the gemstone beads with the locks. I have a few Lynn Rachel Rose gemstone necklaces and they pair really nice with MA locks!

Farfetch is showing lower full price amounts for Marla Aaron right now. I’m guessing this is due to exchange rate differences? Also, as I’m in the US, most Farfetch codes don’t seem to work for me on Marla Aaron, but I just successfully used a shoprunner 15% off code (Shbr15). All in all, I was able to get a lock for about 30% less than normal price!

Awesome!

I’m really tempted to order more from farfetch while the prices are down, but the selection of chain lengths is limited there. And i have more locks than chains now.

I just brought a chain to a jeweler to Marla-fy it with loops. I asked for loops that are slightly smaller than Marla’s. I rarely use my bolt lock because I don’t like how it always turns horizontally. I prefer it to hang vertically with the point facing down. With smaller loops, the bolt lock won’t be able to turn to the side. If this turns out well, I’m thinking I might do this with more chains! I like Marla’s chains but there aren’t really many options. I would love a thinner gold rolo, for instance. The thicker rolo looks very masculine to me.

Make sure to share photos when you put it together!

It didn’t turn out exactly as I wanted it, so I won’t be going back to that jeweler, but here is my chain with loops added. If I didn’t want this particular style of chain, it would have been better to just get a real Marla chain, price and time wise, honestly.

I really like it a lot! I understand what you mean about price and time too.

Ahh, yeah… it can take a while to find chains that check all the boxes. Yours looks great! I source most of my chains on eBay (vintage sterling, mostly) and convert them with jewelry pliers and jump rings. I’ve even found a couple that just happened to have loops that were big enough for a baby lock when I took the clasp off.

I’ve made some that way with gold filled chains, but the links on this chain are too small and need to have soldered jump rings. I used to think Marla’s gold chains were overpriced, but the cost of having a jeweler modify a gold chain was almost the same as getting a real Marla chain. I wish Marla had some more options with chains
