I would suggest you to once visit "http://www.nudejewellery.co.uk/unique-bespoke-jewellery.html" before looking for custom made jewelry in Dubai. I had my jewellery designed from them and it was really satisfying as it was perfectly designed in the way i wanted.

I have to say that when we were in Dubai the prices were really not that good, especially if you decide you dont want to illegal bring the items back into the country (UK). For a simple setting with a moderate diamond at best they could do is match the diamond prices from Blue Nile but the certification was from a lesser organisation and that of cause forgets the ~25% you have to pay to legally import it.

Remember that insurers can cause all sorts of problems for you if you produce a non-EU receipt of purchase but are unable to provide the import note from HMRC.
