I have one LV (Josephine PM Mini Lin) that I bought preloved in 2014. For the first couple of weeks I felt self-conscious carrying it cos I'd never had a premier designer bag ... but not anymore. Now I don't even think about it.

I won’t carry LV to the office (if we ever go back). I use a Kate Spade black tote that can take a beating and carry all the stuff I need for the workday and flies under the radar.
I agree! One of the few really good things about aging is I have stopped worrying about other people's opinions. For this very reason, I only have one Monogram bag, first LV bought in 2006. I prefer Damier Ebene, Epi and love Empreinte. It’s also because of the age, as I grow older, I’m not bothered with what people say anymore.
When I want to go low key, my Epi is the best bet, together with Celine Vertical Cabas and Hermes Picotin Lock. Even Chanels are recognizable too.
That's so rude! I work for a small business and they do the same thing! My coworker bought a Neverfull MM in DE and they were basically making fun of her for spending so much on it. I would love to wear my bags to work but it's not worth the mental stress.I used to carry them to work, since everybody start making weird/ rude comments about me spending so much money on a bag I decided to use longchamp. I do think some people are just jealous

Everyone has different way to treat ourselves, some splashing out for flashy cars, some on exotic holidays, expensive jewellery, fancy restaurants etc, so what makes designer handbags any difference from any of those? It’s not their business to comment or for you to explain the reason neither. No need to concern about other people just carry on doing what makes you happy.I kinda have the same concern - none of my colleagues/friends carry designer bags & I'm not sure if they will "judge" me for spending money on one, although it is my own little practice to celebrate milestones in life with significant purchases, and this was a bag I picked as a reward for myself after MONTHS of deliberation, therefore not an impulse purchase or anything. I wouldn't know how to feel if someone teases me for spending money on a bag.![]()
