Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

I know how you feel! I recently paid my car off and so hey I got extra money and I work hard as well ! My coworker recently after carrying my new speedy 30 around for a month asked me if it was real!! I was like "Yeah I don't carry fakes!" and so she asked how much was it. I told her how much they run and she looked at me like an idiot and said " OMG you paid that much for a purse, I would never spend that much! " I said some people are into shoes, clothes and I'm just into bags! And I said I deserve it! She said well its cause you don't have kids, so I guess it's ok! Omg can you talk about jealous! That's all it was, cause since she had been eyeing my bag and until now decided to ask if it was real! Lol

I have no problem wearing my bags around anyone! I feel like this...me and my husband get up and go to work everyday. Our bills are paid on time, every time and if there ever has been a time in life that we weren't doing well financially we didn't ask anybody for anything. So when we decide to make a specific purchase, what it is and how much we spend is between myself and him. You only live once and we don't owe anyone an explanation on how we choose I spend our money. I have had people ask "how much did you pay for that bag?" my reply "my husband is ok with the amount spent so how much it cost is irrelevant!" and they pretty much go thru the guessing game and I just ignore them and change the conversation. ;-)

I totally agree with the customer service. I shopped in the coach store wearing my galliera and carrying the big brown bag with the evora I had just bought. I bought a wallet and the coach SA included a $50 gift card with the card he sent me! It was like a reverse Julia Roberts moment!

Well said!!

I agree. I have this co-worker who quickly noticed my Speedy when I first took her to work. She even went up to my desk and had a closer look!

Some people are curious and a little nosey :D a little attention is normal until they get used to it... That's cool you take your LV to work, i say show 'em if you got 'em, why not?

I like LV canvas but it's always too obvious with the name on it. That's the reason I don't use my Artsy bag too often, it says LV all over it... I find it somehow tacky. I'm ok with it on my carry ons thou.

And I have the canvas wallet, key bag, make up case and iPad case. The items don't get scratched at all, whatsoever. I purchased it after I absolutely destroyed my Chanel lambskin wallet.

Why do you put any weight whatsoever in what someone else thinks of you? Its not their life or their money, but yours. Do you think they feel embarrassed driving around in expensive cars or having a professionally decorated house or whatever? Of course not! We buy and do as we like because it makes us happy, not because of what someone else thinks of us or the image thats projected. At least it should be that way! No way would I spend my hard earned money on LV and then not carry it somewhere just because someone might not like it or feel bad about it...too bad! You obviously bought LV because you liked it...now carry them with pride!

^^^agree 1000%^^^

Why would anyone of us feel the need to justify our purchases to anyone?? Do people with luxury vehicles need to justify their choice? Do those with million dollar homes need to justify why they live in that 'type' of home? Absolutely not! It's none of their business.
I just recently fell in LVoe but have always had a purse addiction. It's a running joke amongst my family and friends. lol
I am and have always been confident in myself and the choices I make. I couldn't care less what anyone thinks about my bags. They're mine and they were purchased for a reason. To use!! :) Love your LV's and carry them with pride and your held held high sister! :) Life is too damn short to worry about things we have no control over.

In the beginning I was very self-conscious especially at work having people think that my designer handbag was too extravagant or "who does she think she is carrying that?" lol But now that has changed and I happily carry my bag just about anywhere! I bought it with my hard earned money and shouldn't worry about what other people think.

You shouldn't be! Carry your LVs with pride even though I got fired because of it. It's a long story but I will try to make it short. in February this year I got a job as an account manager in call center that caters IT companies here in Germany. Before I got this job I already loved designer bags, I have had all brands Celine to Fendi (except Hermes and Chanel). Then in May I bought an LV Vernis Alma in Rouge fauviste for my birthday and the problem started. First of all my boss (the owner of a company, which is a woman) doesn't like me wearing high heels and doesn't like me looking sharp. She kept telling me to look professional which I believe I did. I wore proper heels and blazers to work. But she never said anything to my colleagues who don't take showers and always wear jeans and T-Shirts to work.
The first day I carried my Alma, she looked me up and down with the look 'how dare you!' on her face. The same day in the afternoon she called me to her office and told me that 'this is a work place and not a catwalk' that I should not dress with heels and expensive bags and skirts (WTF?). The passive-aggressive behavior of that lady (she's 50 and I'm 34) is getting out of control. I was not allowed to talk to other people at work unless to my group head when other people could talk to whom ever they want.
In November I bought Audaceuse and carried only once to work and the next day I exchanged it to Luminuese and carried it to work. Three days later I was fired due to 'incompetence at work'. That witch hated me so much that on my termination letter it claims I worked as an intern in her company which means I won't be able to claim unemployment money from the govt. But actually in my job contract it states that I am a full-time employer.
Based in Germany's law, unless you are doing illegal stuff, when you are fired for whatever reason you need to be told you are getting fired at least a month in advance which she didn't do. Based on these two mistakes that she did in term of firing me, I'm suing her and the company. I have my first appointment with her and her company, and the judge on the 9th of January. My boyfriend is one of the owners of the famous supermarket (Edeka) in Germany and he has to deal a lot with legal stuff and he was the one who pointed it all out to me. He will be there too. If we don't reach an agreement, we will get a lawyer and I will tell the judge all the discrimation treatment I got from that company because the boss dislike me.
What lesson do I get from this? No one can stop me carrying my LV if I want to! :bagslap:
