Anyone done with big wallets?

I don't remember ever having a big wallet. Now I have a small wristlet that holds my phone and a few cards. I can squeeze bills in there if I have to, but I avoid cash. If I need change for parkinzg or train, I organize it in prescription pill bottles from my dogs' meds - those bottles are also handy for small dog treats.

That's a great idea!!

I get fed up with carrying a large wallet so switch to a card case and/or coin purse. Then I end up missing a card I need or can't find the coins when I need them. I tend to use my large wallet in my bag but just grab a debit card to take to the shops etc.

I'm just done with wallets. I put my cards in my crossbody bag, and put that in my bag. Then if I have to run out and don't feel like taking my whole bag I just pull out my crossbody.
When I do take my bag, and have to pull out my crossbody, I sometimes get funny looks from people wondering why I carry a bag in my bag.

No. If my handbag is large enough to fit my full size wallet then that is my preference because I can place any coupons, receipts, full unfolded bills ect... that my small slg's cannot fit.

I love all of my compact card cases, cles, ect... but only use them when I need to go compact, or if I am running in & out somewhere, and just want a small compact slg!

I cannot have two, or three different small goods with different cards in each as it would drive me bananas! I like to have all I need in one place nicely organized & that will never change with my OCP!

I used to be a big wallet kinda girl. Suddenly, I realise all my big wallets have gotten almost zero use lately. In fact, during the last year I've tried carrying my big wallets and after a few days always move back into a mini wallet, card case or a coin purse. Chloe Small Marcie seems to be the largest size I can deal with.

For traveling abroad within the Euro area, I prefer a slim card case and a coin purse for cash but if I need to carry more than one currency I have to take a clutch wallet with two zipped compartments and enough slots for bills. It kinda drives me mad but it's easier than either juggling two coin purses or trying to separate the coins from each other...

For domestic trips - like right now, I'm visiting my Mum - I need more space 'cos I take all my cards with me, so I got a medium Rizzo french wallet and my vintage Dior coin purse. The Dior is here just to make Mum jealous. :p

Yep. I have a Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff coin purse that I use for cards, cash, coins. I bought many larger wallets in the past and I don't even fill half of the CC pockets. Plus I never carry cash with me anyway so a large wallet is useless.

I've never been into big wallets, not even when I used to wear big bags for work and classes. Right now I'm using a mini wallet for the essentials, a small card holder for easy access to my bus pass (and I can put my main credit or debit card in it if I want to go really small), and an accordion card case for loyalty cards and other cards I don't use that much.

I usually don't have cash, but if I do it fits in my small wallet which has one billfold and a small zipper pocket. Coins usually get dumped off in a jar as soon as I get home, and if I've been shopping I'll throw away receipts for small stuff and put receipts for bigger stuff in a folder, so I never have those in my bag. Since I prefer smaller bags right now, I try to go minimal when it comes to content too so I can fit more of the stuff I actually want to bring!

I need to ask you; how do your cards hold up? I'm paranoid about breaking the chip off my debit/credit cards so I've never had the courage to put all my cards in the same pouch and with coins... :shrugs:

Big wallets are my only defense against that cavernous world, lurking inside my big handbags.
It would eat micro wallets & cute card slips noisily, leaving fragmented bones.
:roflmfao:

I haven't ever felt quite like this, but I have recently moved from a small wallet to a smaller wallet. I enjoy being able to fit it in my hand nicely, fit it in my coat pocket, be able to use it in a larger bag or in my smaller crossbody bags.

"small" works for me in many more ways than "large".

I have wallets of all sizes but carry a small card case and change purse most of the time for work when I need to keep the weight down. Only my H Dogon is really large (big enough for my phone to) the others large-ish don't look good stuffed out anyway

I don't like big wallet. It's too bulky and consume so much space in my bag and I already packed my whole life in it. I need extra space in case something come up. :)

I prefer a large one, I like to have everything in one place, and for occasional quick trips out I can take it without my bag if I want. I do have a small purse for coins which can also take a couple of cards but I rarely use it. I don't like the feeling of stuff being crammed in, and I think the larger size looks elegant and can carry a lot without looking like its about to burst open!

I think it really depends on how much you carry. If you're someone who has a lot of cards, I totally understand having a big wallet to fit all your items. I only carry about 8 cards and a few bills so I switched to a zip card case earlier this year and have never looked back. I hated having to switch wallets whenever I wanted to use a small bag, so I find this makes the process so much easier.

I have a Gucci French flap wallet which I have carried for over 6 months straight. I love it. It's folds up perfectly and still has room for full bills. If I am going out and want something smaller I just use my Longchamp card case and stuff my ID - credit card - and insurance card. That's all.

I am now using an LV French wallet nice small size. Have several big wallets languishing in a drawer. It has 8 cc slots and I carry what I need just fine with that - don't really need the 12 slot ones I carried stuff I didn't have to.
