My story continue,
As I previously posted pictures you can see for yourself the defects on the bag.
I did use cloth and try to "remove" missing gold on hardware gently, nothing worked. If something missing, it is simply not there.
So, Piero Tucci received the bag, this is the response the sent me:
"As I suspected and as I told you on my previous email the "huge dark chippings" that you mentioned in your email
were just some polish that I could move away with a damp cloth.
There was also some residual glue on the hardware that I removed with the same cloth.

What is true is that our craftsmen did not remove accurately the polish.
What is not true is that the bag was used or defective.

Now I explain my point of view and I ask you what I should do:

We sent you a new bag.
The value of it was € 414 (about $ 600), but, since it was on sale, we sold it at € 230 (roughly 45% discount).
We asked you a contribution for shipping of € 14.
You paid therefore a total of € 244.

I accepted the return even if, as explained in our website, items on sale are not returnable.
I did it because I trust my customers and I want them to be happy with their purchases!
I hope you trust me if I tell you that to ship the bag to you and to collect the bag from you
Pierotucci spent € 165 for shipping and custom duties (UPS is a good carrier, but it is VERY expensive!).

At this point we have both spent a lot of energy and a lot of money...

What would you do in my situation?
-----------------------------------------------
Apparently this company is asking for 165 euro for shipping charges...
Buyer, beware of this company!!!

For anyone interested. Don't deal with this company.
They do finally offer partial refund and it is 25% less than I paid for the bag. 53 euro is how much company value its services for sending out defective items.
Don't deal with them.

I would not use Paypal again and I would never recommend Piero Tucci to anyone.
It cost me 93.56 dollars to receive defective bag from them. Lesson learned. It took me a lot of pictures and nasty communication. BEWARE!
I'd rather save my money to buy a truly high quality bag when use companies like Piero Tucci who are less than decent in that they do to customers.

Hi Alice,

I had a similar issue w/ Pierotucci. The CS is nice, but they are a small company, and returns can be a bit (in my case, more than a bit) of a headache.

Overall, I would still recommend them, but be sure that you know the return policy, and bring any quality issues to their attention right away, as soon as you receive the bag.

Wow...that does NOT sound like the Pierotucci i bought from!!

I actually contacted them before buying my bag and asked them about the leather and hardware. The actually SENT ME LEATHER SAMPLES so I could choose which type I liked best and said they could make one in a different leather if I liked.

The CS was so helpful. I received the samples and chose one. It then took less than they said (2 weeks instead of 3) for my bag to be ready and another 3 days to reach me with free UPS shipping. I absolutely love this bag and will definitely order from Pierotucci again.

Alice, I think the reason tehy wanted you to sate a $50 value was so you wouldn't have to pay all those duties...I understand what it's like to order something and have it not be what you expected...especially when it is an expensive item...I hope you managed to solve the issue!!

here is a picture of the bag I bought from www.pierotucci.com
It is a flap satchel and sooo cute!

I just ordered a bag deom Pierotucci. I had searched some older threads about Pierotucci, but somehow managed to miss this one. My bag is a sale bag, so I will keep my fingers crossed that I don't have the horrible quality issues others here have experienced!!!

Just wanted to report that I received my Pierotucci bag today. I ordered it on July 2nd, it shipped July 4th and I received it in Western Canada on July 10th. My bag is exactly as described and in perfect condition. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

The name on the dustbag and on the bag is not Pierotucci however - it actually says Royal Highness, which I find a bit odd.

When you sent the bag to them, did you declare the value as $50.00 as they requested? or did you declare the value you paid? I am wondering if the high cost of customs is what make the cost of shipping so high? Just trying to figure this out...

I think, although it has been a while, that Pierotucci has several "lines"...so your bag might fall under one of the other lines that they make. It should say the "brand line" on the web page where you specific bag is located.

I ordered two bags from them two or three years ago, both custom orders. The first was absolutely perfect. The second had a little stitching error on one corner and I contacted Angelo. He offered to have it picked up and shipped back to Italy or to offer me a discount. I negotiated the discount and ended up with 50% off my brand new custom bag. However, the stitching issue still bothered me so I ended up selling the bag to a co-worker who was not bothered by it (and who does not, as it turns out, take great care of her bags :wtf:).

From the experiences here, I am glad I did not return the bag to Italy for repair.

actually i liked what you said there was a time when i could not afford a normal highstreet fashion bag you know i could not afford a walmart bag also
and at that time an aquaintance bought a bag from a thrift store and gave me i did not even think twice carrying it beacuse it could hold all my books and other necessities so yes ultimately things do scale down to maslows hierarchial principals lol even today i have that bag after having 17 designer bags to keep me fixed to the ground and remind me those were the days

^^I don't know about crazyshopper's friend, but (since the price of an H bag equals about a half years pay for me, and a H scarf can pay my rent) if anyone offers me ANY bag for free - I'll take it!

Not a problem! I'm sorry the pictures are so blurry. One of these days I'll figure out how to take closeup shots. :smile1: I think ETenebris got silver hardware on her bag and it's just beautiful! I'm planning to get gold hardware on mine, because I prefer gold with black. Glad I could help.

Can you inform us now, 2 years later, how the bag is doing?
Does it stand test of the time?

I purchased a bag from Pierotucci about six months ago - the Kellyesque one and it has held up really well. The hardware is in good shape and the leather is gorgeous. I am contemplating another purchase from them when I am in Florence in March.
