I think the leather bags hold up well. I had a couple that latest several years and I sold them in very good used condition. The fabric type are probably good for 1.5 years, depends on how hard you are on your bags.

It's great to hear the leather ones hold will pretty well over years!

It probably depends on the bag - I can see the thicker leather of the vintage line being durable but I also have thinner leather. I've had them for about 2 yrs now and they're fine but I have bags that I rotate so it's not heavy daily use. I don't baby though - i put them on the ground and all that. The bottom gets scuffed but it doesn't affect functionality at all.

I don't usually place bags on the floor no matter how cheap or expensive they are so I guess I don't have the worry about scuffing much. ;)

I bought my first one in February, so not long at all. I beat that thing up when I have it. Certain places I go to (usually rabbit related) I need something that can take some loving, and that's what I take with me. You would hardly know that thing touches the ground.

Ah I see. If I do get one, I'm planning to get it during June or July since that's when the sale season is here. :graucho: I sure hope it will hold up well since I'm planning to use it for several years at least.

Before I started buying designer bags, Fossil was my go-to bag. I would buy/have one (yes only one bag for every day and every circumstance) and I found they would last 1-2 years before I had to buy a new one. Usually a zipper breaking or the leather looking totally worn. But at that time I didn't know anything about leather care and I certainly didn't handle my bags with care.

I have some of the new Vintage Reissue bags, but I have yet to use any... and I have so many bags now that none get heavily used, so I can't comment on this line.

I see. I'm new to leather products so could you advise on what kind of leather care do you do for your bags? I understand having one bag for every single day and situations too because that's what I'm doing now. Though I've started working so I would like to invest on purchasing durable leather bags but still within an affordable range for me, as a student.

Fossil is amazing. I've loved their bags and wallets for years! I currently own a few crossbodies and three wallets and they've all held up very well. I do agree though that the their leather tends to scuff up a bit easily, but it's so soft. The only other brand that I know of that comes close to it from personal experience is Rebecca Minkoff.

It's great to hear Fossil products held up well! I'm even more tempted to purchase it now. I have taken a look at Rebecca Minkoff and they have nice bags too though pricer than Fossil from what I see. :p

You know I don't love bags that have a lot of "branding" (Like Coach with the monogram print...) Fossil tends to fall into this category for me because their bags always seem to have some kind of advertising on them but I will say that I have always been impressed with the quality of the leather that they use.

Hey chicchica, I get what you mean. I kinda regret getting all those coach in fabric cos there's all the C's on them!! Fossil usually has a metal plate in front of their bags which looks pretty grunge and as long as the logo is not too ginormous I'm fine.. Oh the leather is good, I agree..

I'm loving the colours of your Fossil bag and clutch! Especially the bag! :p Great purchase!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like those bags that has the branding printed all over! For me the Fossil branding is ok since the metal plate is small, match the design of the bag and not in your face kind. :smile1:

Thanks, asianjade! :)

It rained this morn and the bag suffered some water stains initially, but they dried up within a few minutes. Thumbs up for fossil leather! :)

I have been wondering. For those who own leather bags, do you bring it out even though you know it's about to rain/raining? I have been instilled with this concept that leather bags shouldn't get in contact with water or it will be damaged. But what if it's during rainy season? >.<

What do you do if it gets wet? Do you leave it to dry or give it some special treatment? I'm new to leather care so I want to know what I'm getting into before purchasing one. :D
