I started out my bag obsession with fossil :D i love the maddox line but they're really heavy. The vintage reissued line has beautiful colors. The newer sydney line, too, comes in very attractive colors. They are not too expensive too considering their quality.

You know what I really miss: the canvas messenger/cross-body bags that meant Fossil years ago. Some of those bags were so well made. And they always had quirky vintage-like patterns. Seems like the company has pretty much given up their trademark canvas for leather. In the process they've become just another leather bag maker. Their old canvas bags seem to sell for a nice chunk on ebay, or at least as much as they retailed for originally, but they usually come with considerable wear (and stains).

The early canvas (keyper) series were soooo well made, i agree! They are combined with leather. The later keyper series were combined with pvc amd that wasn't as long lasting.

PVC. Blech. I can't imagine why Fossil would do that. That bit of leather couldn't have added that much to the price of the bag. I wish I would have bought more Fossil bags years ago. So many that I liked but at the time I thought oh, I have enough bags.

When was this? I carried exclusively Fossil from the early 90's until 2007. And it was always leather bags for me. Used to love their designs. And then I really liked the "Vintage Reissue" line a few year ago, but only kept 2 pieces.

Ooh, I really loved the leather bags in Fossil's Vintage Reissue line! Didn't buy any because I had so many bags at the time, but now I regret it.


There were some canvas and canvas/leather bags in the Vintage Reissue line that I really liked. But the Fossil canvas messenger bags I was thinking of appeared in the decade prior to that, probably 2000-2010. If you search for "Fossil canvas" on ebay lots of them come up. The Macy's near my house always had a large display of them, but at some point they started carrying only Fossil leather bags.
