This was lunchtime today, so I will assume the info was correct. They will have to update their prices for tomorrow, so let's hope they had the right info today.

That would be so awesome, Monceau! I am going to the boutique tomorrow, so will find out for sure then. Meantime, I am keeping my toes and fingers crossed!!

I think if you ask the Russians themselves, you will hear a far different story. No offense to the NYT, but I always found American news to be a bit "distorted".

I think H will not have any problem getting rid of any excess inventory.

Sorry, but I wonder what Russians you are speaking to (or about). Their economic problems are quite well documented and felt throughout their country. Apparently, per this article, even by the uber wealthy. The Russians that I know are not among the uber wealthy and they have been feeling this problem for some time.

Just back today from the boutique in SF. Was told the CSGM's where going up by $100.00

Anyone else heard this?

Rats - I haven't heard this. Was in SF boutique last Friday and several SAs had no clue as to specifics. I am going in tomorrow, so I will find out the news then, I guess...I may need to have wine at lunch after all!!

Looks like the CSGM has a universal price freeze. Which isn't surprising given the stock level are so high in the boutiques! Good job I didn't panic buy them...

That is how I feel. Given our bad weather, I haven't made it to the boutique and I do want to try on before I buy. Now I feel better. Even if I end up with a 90, I won't mind having delayed. The increase is reasonable.

Last year, our CSGM went from £760 to £840 and it was very hard to swallow and I was much more selective at buying them. Nowadays, I see many many GMs in the drawers in my store. They are clearly not shifting. Maybe they realised they are at the price saturation point. They should have never made that big jump last year.

I've noticed that BNIB (supposedly) CSGM scarves are not selling well on eBay, even the current and popular designs/colors.

I am much more selective with my scarf buying now.

Mousse stoles up to 890 and shawls up to 970. Out of control once you add tax in! No way would I buy one in the US now (and I'm a mousseline devotée). :nogood:

Glad to hear good news for my CSGM-collecting friends here!
