Chanel :(

It's starting to look a bit common nowadays with the knockoffs.

I agree. Also, around two years ago, Chanel and LV boutiques opened here and now it seems everyone and their mother is carrying Chanel and LV. I love their durability but got rid of all of mine.

Interesting thread.

I fell out of love with Coach years ago because I thought they were boring. They improved for a while, but now in my opinion have gone back downhill a bit.

LV and Chanel fakes are so completely taking over the marketplace that I'm a bit put-off by them as well, like so many of the rest of you have commented. I still occasionally turn my head when a really well put together woman goes by with an LV or Chanel and I just KNOW it's real, but I'm just tired of the high school kids lugging around all the monograms and double Cs and they're so beat up and dirty and generally abused you kinda HOPE they're fake.

I have to say, I'm also not feeling Balenciaga any more. I've owned 5 or so, but have now sold them all. I don't like the giant hardware or perforated bags, and just feel as though I'm too old for them. I still think they've got some of the best leather around, but I'm content to admire from afar.

I still love Prada, although I wish they'd stop making their bags so darned big. I'm also still mad for Bottega Veneta, although I'm not sure how many more I can afford given how expensive they're getting.

And, can I say that I've been on the Purse Forum for a while now, and I'm completely jealous of all of you who say you have enough bags. The PF has done nothing for me other than increase my bag lust. I am quite sure my husband wishes I'd never found this little playground. :sneaky:

Well, for me personally, if a bag is often faked it doesn't put me off too much because I really could care less if ppl think mine is fake or not. I know it's real & in a sea of fakes I feel special. :P I do get tired of ppl thinking other ppl's fakes are real though! Death to the fake makers!

Coach too. I'm really getting disappointed with the quality and the new bags now. I still love their SLG's and small accessories though, but I can't see myself buying anymore of their bags in the future. I rather save up for Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors and maybe a Balenciaga in the future.

I think it's same to me too.

I feel sad that there are no bags for me to covet right now. I have been shopping on line and in person, and nothing speaks to me. In the past there has always been a "must have" bag that I sought. Now I feel that part of my life is missing.

me too. I haven't been into bags for a while now.
I definetly am over LAMB, however, and don't think i'll buy anymore LAMB bags. the other day i was organizing my closet, and I looked at my bags, and my LAMB bags are just not even close to my designer bags. At most, I think LAMB are worth maybe $200, if that. I am totally turned off to the brand. I'd rather pay double the price of a LAMB for a marc jacobs, or jimmy choo.

I am slowly falling out of love with LV, while I still purchase some pieces...I begining to love Chanel more and more! I Love the all leather look of the Chanel bags, especially the classic flap with the leather woven chain! However, I still prefer to use LV canvas for everyday because I won't have to stress about babying it!

I've fallen completely out of love of GUCCIs, Fendis, MJs & Koobas for a while now. For other brands particularly Coach, MKs, LAMB, I never liked them ever since.

I'm happier & still so in love w/ my present collection.

I'd also have to say I used to be obsessed with BE, then I realized I didn't love them as much as I thought. Something about the bags never seemed to be worth the price point. I had a few, kept a couple, and sold the rest for a huge loss. I don't even visit the BE forum anymore.

You know, you totally put your finger on one of the major issues with BEs--the resale value. It is HORRIBLE, way worse than it should be for the quality of the bags. Such a low resale value is hard to swallow when you bespoke a bag and it can't be returned. You inevitably take a massive hit.

In terms of what's changed...

I stopped liking Coach a long time ago.
Last year, I went in and out of love with RM in a flash.
I still like HH, but since I sold my Nomade we've gone our separate ways.
I continue to have an "open" relationship with MJ while I prance around with MK.:graucho:
And I just bought my first BE, so we'll see...

I'm pretty much off bags in general these days. I still look around, but there comes a time when you have so many, nothing new looks as good as something I already have at home.

I think this pretty much sums it up for me too. I have a varied collection and while I still look around and may make the occasional purchase, I'm content with my current bags.

I don't buy anything with the intent of reselling it, so resale is not an issue for me. But I have gone neutral on BE because there's nothing really new, just the same styles with a bit of something added (or not) that doesn't warrant any new purchases. Same for Ignes - great bags, well made but not maintaining any excitement in the line once you have a few. About the only one that continues to entice me is Lockheart.
