Mulberry. Like many other brands, declining quality + skyrocketing prices. Also the new designs of recent years haven't been very inspiring to me. Here in the UK they are quite ubiquitous, which also turns me off a bit.

I think I'm slightly falling out of love with Balenciaga, mostly because of discontinuing various hardware lines only to bring them back as LEs in a transparent ploy for money. What I read of the corporate issues behind Nicolas Ghesquiere's departure doesn't endear me to the brand, either.

Agreed. On both brands, but especially Mulberry. I have several older bags by Mulberry, but the newer are not inspiring. I am not a fan of the new very shiny hardware, and the fact that they now produce many bags in china and turkey.

I still love my old Balenciaga bags, but the leather in the new ones are not compareable...

Mulberry for me too. I used to be obsessed a few years ago but I don't like the fact that they are so everywhere in London. Plus, I can't believe how much their prices have gone up!

Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs

Declining quality in the leather, prices going up, lack of style choice and color, discontinuing my favorite styles... I used to love Marc Jacobs, it was the brand that really started it for me. I really really regret selling my PTTM Natasha in lambskin because I'm never going to get a beautiful bag like that again from him :shucks:

This is probably one of the most interesting threads, There are heaps of brands that I am over, mostly i cannot get why a bag made in China can cost over $1000 when the workers are getting paid hardly anything... it really saddens me, I guess it also comes down to quality, too there are a huge amount of companies who continuously increase their prices and decrease the quality not to mention the decline of customer service, I went into Chanel to purchase a bag and sunglasses, not only did most the bags have dents scuffs stitching was off, check Chanel question the quality thread, I finally found one that was reasonable handed my card pay the guy took my card the went to serve someone else, I waited for 20 minutes to get my goods and card back. Yes they have commissions etc but that is enough to turn me away from Chanel for good. Though Chanels and LVs everywhere here whether real or fake its also a factor why I have them all sitting in my wardrobe. I do not understand why brands cannot improve their quality and customer service since so many people have said it has been an issue...

I think that brands like Chanel want to offer good customer service, but the people that they hire are usually people who can make volume sales, and these people usually do everything except actually caring for their customers to get as many sales as possible.

So it depends on the person that they hire, I guess. But there are some brands that have more of these types of SAs.

The brand that I used to like but really despise now is Michael Kors. I used to recommend others to get a Michael Kors bag or watch as their first mid-level "designer" thing, but I don't anymore. A lot of the bag designs copy LV (especially with the light beige leather trim) and Prada (with the use of Saffiano leather), making them look like imitation bags (similar to Guess).

And what's more confusing is how most Michael Kors products are actually MICHAEL Michael Kors, which is almost indistinguishable from his expensive Michael Kors line.

Balenciaga. It's not so much that I'm falling out of love with it per se, more that I'm falling in love with other designers. I still love Balenciaga, but it used to be that they were undoubtedly my favorite and now they have a lot of competition.

Coach. I used to be such a fan of their Madison and Kristin lines. Now I hate, hate, hate these dang Legacy bags. They are so plain and old lady looking. The leather is dry and porous and feels prone to attracting dirt and cracking. And they are all the same, all leather, slight shape variation and a tassel. Yawn. Even the Poppy and upcoming Madison bags look more plain and like the Legacy style. I used to by a bag every month and have not purchased anything in the full price store since October. I have bought a few bags I missed on ebay etc. I wish Coach would get over this style or keep Legacy if they want but also some other collections. And the Made For Factory replicas of the full price styles is just horrible plan, especially when they keep the names the same. I cannot believe Coach is not losing their shirt, but apparently people are buying the Legacy bags like hot cakes.

I'm starting to fall out of love with Rebecca Minkoff. I still love the bags - especially the older ones with such fabulous leather. I have major grumblings about their customer service (the way they are handling special orders is atrocious), and the newer bags are just declining in quality of materials and lots of the little interior details are being tossed aside. I will always love and adore the RMs that I currently have in my collection, but I'm afraid they won't be seeing any more of my money without some major shifts in CS and bringing back some of the great qualities that made the older RM bags so fabulous (when I look at the Made in NYC bags, I know they can do it!!).
I'd go on about this myself but I'll say "ditto". To be fair though, it isn't just RM that is declining in quality. It seems like it's happening across the board.

I'm actively searching for lesser known brands that give me more bang for the buck.

After finding out the Bal fades it was all over for me. Also Coach. My problem with them is their outlet stores. Why would I carry a bag I bought at full price knowing everyone's thinking I got it at the outlet????? At least Louis Vuitton is hardcore enough to destroy their bags rather than put them on sale. That's my style!!! That's why they get all my money.
