Have to revive this thread to get something off of my chest, so to speak.

I am definitely falling OUT of love with Rebecca Minkoff (yet again). I have a true hot & cold relationship with this brand...usually we are on the outs around the Holidays and through the spring months, but then I relent and return for pre-fall. My displeasure with RM is inevitably due to the brand's horrid customer service during the rush of the winter sample sales (including their Black Friday online sale, which is always a disaster).

Even though the bags themselves are generally lovely, and in all fairness the quality control on them has improved in the past year, I still can't get over the lousy CS.

And on top of that I am annoyed with myself for coming back to the brand after I had vowed never to return last time. :cursing:

It's just too much like that lame-a** BF I had my first year of college.

I'm falling out of love with Louis Vuitton, because I don't they wear well, and if i'm going to spend a lot of money on a bag I want it to last, also Fendi because there is nothing that has really caught my eye from Fendi, and I used to be such a huge fan back in college!

Must have dated the same guy!! was he named Mario??

I feel the same about RM, I am done have 5 of them and that is all I need

Coach I lost the love for them a few years ago but I still look but nothing temps me to buy

I love the ring in your profile pic. I almost bought one like it when I managed a jewelery store. I don't love RM. I think they look pretty online, but IRL they are a bit of a bore. I also do not love COACH anymore. I LOVE Lv, Burberry, Gucci and SOME Fendi.

Thanks FM! Glad to see that great minds really do think alike! I noticed that you wrote this before I changed the ring pic to the large 3-stone. I love both designs but if I can stick to my guns & save without being distracted (why am I still hanging out on tPF then, lol?) I want to get the 3-stone because she is my holy grail!   I love pink diamonds too & don't really gravitate towards yellow in my wardrobe but I do not know what it is about a yellow diamond that just lifts my spirits & makes my heart sing! :tender:

His name was Bill...but I think that there was a Mario in there somewhere later on...:lawl:

Yep, I am officially and (unless I get a lobotomy) PERMANENTLY over RM. I don't see myself paying to be mistreated by a handbag company anymore in the near future. :nono:

Ladies, this is the exact reason I gave up on Kooba as well! A strap broke off my bag and I contacted them for help. There response was because I didn't buy directly from them they don't fix it and Luna Boston where I bought it said they couldn't help me either! At $500+ that is serious lousy cs!!!! Hence, I never bought a bag of theirs ever again and never will! They could have easily fixed it faster than it took me to vent about it! Seriously stupid Customer Service!!

Good for you
I used to be a major fan of Cole Haan bags, but I'm finished with them. I had an AWFUL experience with them today...it wasn't so much the salespeople, but the corporate policies. It honestly seems like they don't care if they lose a customer.

Even though I'm still attracted to their bags, I need to put my foot down and say NO MORE. That's exactly what happened to me with Rebecca Minkoff. I used to avidly collect RM handbags, but after the plethora of CS/QC issues, I was finished. There is no reason why we should be shelling out ANY amount of money whatsoever to a company who obviously does not care enough to keep its existing customers happy.

Frankly, I am tired of having such bad experiences that I have to go out of my way to complain about it. That really shouldn't be happening. It's so strange to me how so many companies are willing to drop customer service before losing a buck.

Coach. I am absolutely sick of seeing every single girl on my college campus carrying a Coach bag....ugh. I loved the brand in high school, but the more I've grown up, my tastes and styles have evolved a little (unfortunately for my wallet, to the most expensive brands...) and now the sight of Coach annoys me.

Agreed!! And I would have to add Kooba to that list - I bought an authentic Sienna back in the day and within 2 wearings, the whipstitching on the strap was breaking apart. And then one of the studs on the straps fell off soon afterwards. Grrrrrr..... :cursing:

I also have dealt with Bulga problems. They sent me two bags instead of one once (the same bag) and I could have kept them both easily, but rather I shipped the extra one back to them immediately (on my dime) and called them to let them know it was coming. The person who answered the phone did not offer to reimburse my shipping, much less thank me for my honesty (and this is when Bulga was in its first year or so).

RM however absolutely takes the cake. I don't possess, the energy, time, or desire for listing all of that company's CS and QC issues. I am frankly embarrassed and annoyed at myself for sticking to that brand as long as I did in the first place.

I don't do things like return handbags that I didn't pay for just so that others thank me, but I really think that some of these companies would benefit from some serious customer service training for their employees. Good customer service can even go a long way towards repairing any damage done by poor craftsmanship, etc. (A simple, sincere "I'm sorry, this shouldn't have happened, what can I do to make it right?" and prompt action on the part of a CS rep is all that's needed, really).

It's an indication of just how out of touch some of these companies are with their consumer base when they don't even realize just how many more loyal customers they could keep with some basic CS training, especially in the current economic times.

I am with you on that one.
...and its not for being "mistreated" or anything like that (although the factory STILL has a Nikki of mine for a lining change they told me would take 2-3 weeks tops and it has been almost 8 wks!!!). It is more out of sheer boredom with the brand and the DRAMA! I don't like ANY of the new styles, and I am tired of the Nikki's and MA bags (which were the only styles I really loved)....
I sold every handbag I owned and only had RM handbags because I was sucked in and became obsessed with her bags.... then as if a lightswitch turned off, when the whole racked.com thing happened (and those of you who were RM girls know what I am talking about) I completely lost interest. Bags that I swore I would never part with suddenly were sold, and now I am down to 2 RM's (one being the nikki at the factory!!). I am not sure I can part with these last 2 RM bags. I think thats OK tho. I am happy with these 2 bags.
I am back to my first love, Marc Jacobs! MJ was what originally brought me to tPF, was my first real obsession, then after going through fun bags like Linea pelle, Hayden-Harnett, then finally RM, I am right back where I started with MJ. The quality is by far much better, and the CS is great, too!
Yup, I think I'll stick around with MJ for a while!
:D

I've also fallen out of love with Coach...for several reasons. To be honest, there was really ever only about 3 bags I LOVED LOVED LOVED ever, from them. It was the ergo pleated laced satchel (still a beauty, but don't own it), the Sabrina, and probably the Poppy Groovy (which I plan to buy still if it dips below $100). I think when I got my Sabrina and it got scratched/scuffed so easily even though I was so careful with it, it kind of broke my heart. At that time, it was my most expensive bag, and for the amount I paid, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't even keep the bag in tip-top condition even with me tip-toeing around it. Second is, I noticed their designs are getting too "young" for me. Now, I'm not old by any means, but I feel a lot of them are for like 14/15 year-olds...and I'm way over that age. Thirdly, I find some of the boutique SAs to be very snooty. I've gotten attitude from quite a few. I've also received really GOOD service from some, but not enough to compensate for the crappy CS I've received. I also don't like how fast new designs go to outlets considering I have no access to an outlet and I have to pay full retail for all their bags, only to find it for 40% of what I paid less than a month later...

Another one is Dolce & Gabbana. I used to LOVE this brand. My favourite brand hands down back in the day, but I truly have not seen anything I liked for a very long while. It's quite saddening cause it's my first love in terms of brand name designers :(

It's good I'm narrowing down my brands though considering I have a bit of a spending issue...

Ha ha ha...funny you should say that you are back with MJ, cooper, 'cause I am looking in that direction myself...:graucho:

I am happy for you!!! :D
