Just discovered this thread and I’m love [emoji7]. This is a ring I’m wearing today, and figured I’d contribute to the thread. It’s an Edwardian platinum ring with grossular garnet (the guy said it was tsavorite but considering those weren’t discovered until the 30s I’m hesitant to call it that) with diamonds. I forgot the carat weight IMG_1523979636.567833.jpgIMG_1523979660.674906.jpg

i love your ring! its nice to own a ring with a stone you dont see a lot! i love antique or vintage rings! they are such good quality pieces unlike what is made nowadays! platinum is a good metal for rings you wanna give your grandchildren one day because it doesnt really wear! yeah it patinas and scratched but you just buff it and its alright, the platinum is still there unlike gold! still there are a lot of gold jewelry though that can last a long time if with proper care.

Thank you [emoji4] I’m with ya on the platinum, most of the antique rings I look at now are in plat since they age so well and I want to be able to pass things down and have it hopefully still looking good. Although it’s hard for me to turn down a gold Victorian or Georgian piece. They’re so unique

it would be cool to own a jewelry with that age indeed! some people I knew here raise their eyebrows at me when i talk about antique rings. they go like " why do you want rings that was worn by someone else?" well for me, they offer a good price for a better quality stones and its nice to own something that has history on it!
