Another Sale

2 pf my 3 new Dooney handbags have arrived.
Both are keepers.... the Denison Zip Satchel in Deep Teal
(dark brown handles and zipper pulls) and the Alto Flavia in
Burgundy. Both are exactly as I expected and in perfect condition.

A word about the Alto, for those that are Alto collectors....
the Burgundy color has a lot of brown undertone. In the sun light
is looks like a dark red with brown undertones. In artificial light
it's a cross between a wine and a brown shade. There are no orange
undertones. The color is very nice, more brown than I expected, but
still rich and lovely. The stitching and design of the handle attachment
is beautiful. This is classic Alto, understated and elegant. Beautiful smooth
and softly gleaming leather.
The size is fine.... a generous medium sized bag. It will hold as much
as the classic zip zip satchel or maybe a little more.

The Flavia is fully lined,
but has limited internal organization and no outside pockets. And true to
Alto design, the interior zip pocket and small slip pocket are not leather trimmed
and there is no key keeper.
There is no shoulder or crossbody strap and no D rings to attach one.
That is not an issue for me, since I hand carry my bags. But the online
description is wrong. (One of the reviews complained about that so I wasn't expecting
the strap.)

The price is very good and if the list price shown is accurate, the discount is substantial.
These days with prices going up, it's important to focus on the price you pay
not just the savings %. Since they hadn't raised the sale price back up (yet?),
I ordered the Flavia in Fir today. I wanted to add that color to my Alto collection.

I'm thinking about several Alto.... but of course, the ones I
like, with the best prices, are designated clearance, no returns.
I need to weigh the pros and cons. I rarely return, only if there
is a quality issue.... but... I do like the security of knowing I can
send a bag back if I find it defective. At half off or more, I'm
pretty flexible.... but...sometimes there is a problem I can't overlook.

The Clearance banner and no returns is on the individual product
page. But it's not in the shopping cart. So it pays to read the
product page carefully.

I do this all the time. Put a bunch of stuff in my cart while I try to decide whether I really want to spend money. Almost none of it is ever stuff I really need.

I went back to ILD and ordered a bunch of stuff.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that everything is in
good condition. The buys were fantastic, and I got
carried away.... forgetting the risk since many items were
clearance and final sale. No more handbags for me for the
next decade. Time to step away from the computer.

Just wanted to alert others to the fact that sometimes one of the colors is at a lower price
than the others. You can only see the sale price after putting the item in your cart and
entering the code, in this case BLACKFRIDAY.

So, if you are bargain hunting, or just trying to justify another
handbag, scroll thru the colors and see which one/ones show a lower
listed price and then put it in your cart and add the discount code.

Just this morning I found the pebble Blair in midnight blue and the
pebble satchel in caramel at a lower price than the other colors.

I know we should buy only the colors we want/need.... but sometimes
there is more than 1 color that will work for us. (Or in my case since I
don't need any, it's a different justification). 🙄

I have 4 items to arrive. So far, I love the first two. You were right about the Alto Rayna, it is very small and the smallest of all my small bags. Except, it came in the persian blue and I didn't have that color.

I have a Dubarry Bracken tweed jacket in grey with a small amount of blue in that shade. Kate Middleton has the jacket in a brown tweed and I thought the little bag would work.

As for my tally of recent purchases.... I'm afraid to count them up. Let me just say
you have shown a lot more self control than I have. I need to change handbags
multiple times a day to justify buying so many. 🙄 I'm still waiting for a lot of the
handbags to arrive, and the SLGs too. There are a few cosmetic cases, and 2
Carrington pouches (the large ones), a zebra credit card case (to match a cosmetic
case that's at least 15 years old), and a Tartan coin case that I couldn't resist.
As for handbags, I got a Flo Tulip shopper, and a pebbled leather barrel bag, a bone
drawstring bag and also a bone small zip wallet in pebbled leather,
a grey croco embossed small tote, a black nylon Bailey tote.
And a Penrose 2 satchel (the one that was on ILD because it was larger than the
one on Dooney.com; and also less expensive). I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
Of course, until I have them there is a chance they won't ship. That has happened
sometimes during sales. Either they run out or the bags are back-ordered, or wnen
they look in the warehouse the bag isn't there. i really want that Penrose bag, I'm
very curious about the leather.

My guess is the deals won't be quite as good in a few days.
There may be some exceptions, hidden treasures, but overall
I don't think we'll see too many full size leather handbags at under $130...
and there were quite a few of those over the past few weeks.
I think we will see good prices, but not as many that make us
forget our common sense and keep buying and buying.

And it's always a good idea to check all 3 of the Dooney sites....
main site, ILD, and ILD on ebay for price. I don't do this as often
as I should... we should do it on every bag on the day we buy it...
before we check out.

I just received the Dooney Pebbled Leather Aimee Drawstring that
was on ILD for a great price.
I wanted to share pictures and let you know this is a full size drawstring.
I know some of the reviews say it's small, but I measured it and it's
almost a twin to the Florentine small Logan.

The base of the Aimee is 5+" deep and 11" long.
It has grommets around the top for the drawstring.
It does not have an outside zip pocket the way the Flo small Logan does.
The Aimee has the same small inside zip pocket and small back slip pocket
as the Logan does (I wish these 2 pockets were larger). It also has the
standard 2 front inside slip pockets.
The drawstring has tassels and uses the same slide as the Logan....
right now it's tight, I don't know if it will slip over time the way the
Logan does unless you cross the strings.

The bone color is a deep bone.... it is not an off-white.

All and all this was a super buy at a fantastic price.
I'm going back to look at other colors.

Much to my surprise, some of the doorbusters that went up on ILD today
are actually a better price than the very good prices over the past few days.
I noticed the Blair bag in pebbled leather and the Tartan Plaid.

I really don't need any more temptation!
Maybe the fact that I didn't get the lowest possible price
will annoy me enough to stop buying. I did get great prices
and I know I can't always get the lowest price.... but it would
be nice! 🙄

I don't know if any of the prior sale prices on bags are now
listed at higher or slightly lower prices. I'm guessing it varies.

LID: I read your post and had to check to see if I wrote it! 😁 My thoughts exactly, even
tho I haven't gotten my new Alto Woven Shopper or Blue Plumes Drawstring yet!
I'm really excited that you love your new handbags. Now I no longer feel any guilt
for buying more handbags when I promised myself no more! 😮😮😮

I fell in love with the Plumes print when they released it and was waiting for a decent sale and also a style that worked for me. Would have been happier with a large domed satchel,
but there wasn't one. I like the D/S style and I think the blue is the prettiest color
(at least from the photos). The black would have worked for me too, but I have
another black background Dooney D/S in one of the floral prints. And a black background Tartan Charleston tote. Come to think of it I have a blue Hydrangea zip zip from years ago.... so the Plumes D/S is the best new addition to my Dooney print collection.

I don't collect a lot of prints, I much prefer
solids and all leather handbags. But, as a collector, I enjoy owning and
wearing some of the Dooney prints, on occasion, as accents to solid outfits.
Prints are never neutrals in my wardrobe.... and that includes logo prints too.

As for the Alto.... ah, Alto. I almost bought the large Woven shopper, but I really
want to use it as a handbag. And I have other large Alto totes (also in saddle) that
are a little larger than I would like.... for handbag use. Space is great, but
the larger the bag, the heavier it is. And dragging around all my stuff makes
any handbag heavy. Sometimes I think if the stuff is spread out over a larger
handbag it almost feels lighter.... like a pound of feathers vs a pound of bricks
(which concentrate the weight into a smaller space). Maybe I should have bought
the large Shopper?????

I hope I'm 'satisfied' with 1 Alto Woven Shopper..... I have no room in my
handbag collection (physical space) to add more. And a black Alto is always
tempting. I'm going to wait and see how the size and style of the saddle
Woven Shopper (mid size) works for me. And try to convince myself I don't
need to add the black one in any size to my collection. I'll probably begin
trolling for a good price.... just in case. 🙄

I'm still shopping! Every day I look at the sales.

Can you offer any more feedback on the Plumes Collection? My purchases tend to be leather and solid. None of my bags are fabric or pattern, except the two cosmetic bags that came today. One is coated cotton and the other is woven fabric.
