WTF? Her parents refuse to pay saying Amanda needs to pay for it? Those don't sound like the words of a parent who wants to get their child help (or one who should be granted conservatorship over their daughter!) And the woman who's driveway it was - sounds like she's looking for $$$ above & beyond what it costs to repair/clean. A neighbor offered to take care of it free of charge & she turned it down? Ridiculous! Why? If all she wants is it fixed, why turn down an offer to have it done free of charge, unless she wants something more than what it will cost to fix it.

Not trying to argue but why should a grown woman's parents pay for the damage?

I've been saying all along that the parents of these child stars are the ones who "sold" them into Hollywood in the first place. It's not surprising that Amanda doesn't speak to them. Even Britney isn't fond of her parents, she's forced under the dad's control via the conservatorship.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree, but it was the statement her father made - its Amanda's mess and she can clean it up. He says that, but were supposed to believe that they're concerned enough to seek out a conservatorship. If they're convinced she can't care for herself and/or poses a threat to herself or others, enough that they want to take action, I wouldn't expect that kind of statement about paying for the damage.

And whether or not Amanda SHOULD pay for the damage, the fact that the woman turned down an offer that someone made to clean it up for free, and wants Amanda to pay instead, makes me think she wants more than just the cost of repairs. If all she wants is the driveway fixed/clean, why turn down an offer made by someone else? Especially when the person who caused the damage is in the hospital on a psychiatric hold!

AMANDA BYNES WON'T BE CHARGED With a Crime

Amanda Bynes is in for a tough road ahead -- dealing with what looks like a serious mental illness and a conservatorship -- but she's not going to be charged with another crime ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... prosecutors will NOT charge Amanda with trespass, arson or any other criminal offense in connection with Monday's bizarre driveway blaze. We're told cops and prosecutors view her conduct as non-criminal and rooted in mental illness. We're told the cops almost immediately decided Amanda needed professional help -- not punishment.

But the troubled star is not out of the woods. She faces DUI charges in L.A. and reckless endangerment and pot charges in NYC.

Amanda Bynes
10 Hours of Sanity...
1 Hour of Crazy

Amanda Bynes has been true to form in the hospital where she's being held on a psychiatric hold -- she's completely lucid for long stretches, and then goes off the handle crazy.

Sources with knowledge of the situation tell TMZ ... doctors have already determined Amanda is suffering from a severe mental illness "with schizophrenic tendencies." We're told she's aware "there's a good Amanda and a bad Amanda." When she talks about the bad Amanda she almost mimics an exorcism, pulling at her body as if to remove the demon, and even biting herself.

We're told yesterday Amanda was lucid for 10 hours -- she was kind, quiet and nice. During that 10 hour period the staff questioned her about the fire she started Monday and her personality changed radically. She got frustrated and "shut down." But she still remained "normal."

After 10 hours of normal, out of nowhere, her eyes widened, she started to grill the staff about her dog (the one she soaked in gasoline). The staff then told her the dog was safe with her parents, and Amanda went nuts, saying "They'll kill it, just like they tried to kill me." This went on for an hour.

Amanda then got incoherent and so out of control she had to be physically restrained.

And, we're told, Amanda was extensively drug-tested, and everything came up negative, except for marijuana.

And there's this. Initially Amanda was placed with another female patient, but she started berating and insulting her to the point they removed Bynes and put her in a room by herself.

I don't think she's faking. We also know now that she's not on any drugs. I feel bad for her. Schizophrenia is a serious illness. My friends aunt has a really bad case that developed when she was 17/18 and she had to be admitted to an institution. It was really sad because she was a completely normal, happy, popular, typical teenager and then all of a sudden everything changed. I hope Amanda gets medication that works for her so she can go back to a normal life.

I feel very strongly against anyone related to this speaking about it. If her behavior behind closed doors is being reported by medical staff they should be fired.

Yeah, I was just going to ask who gets fired for that leak, or even arrested.

And why isn't the gossip rag being sanctioned? HIPAA violations are serious offenses.

Personally, I wish people would stop quoting and promoting that TMZ trash rag. They clearly have NO ethics or morality and should never be considered a credible source.
