Why doesn't her family step in the way Britney Spears family did?? Is it cause she doesn't have Britney money? I mean I'm sorry if her family really cared they would get in there and take over and get that girl some help before it's too late and they are asking themselves 'what happen'

You know, I feel bad for this girl. Whatever she's going through, be it drugs, mental illness or combo of the 2, she is in a BAD place.

My opinion regarding the parents? Well it's probably hard to reel their child in because 1. She's no longer a child and 2. She's been allowed to live as an "adult" since her teen years. I remember seeing an interview on the Rosie O'Donnell Show years ago when Amanda was like 16 and she was talking about her then 22 year old boyfriend. Sounded like she was living with him and Rosie was sitting there looking really uncomfortable and squirming in her seat.

Hope she can get her life back together.

I feel like she's going to become a homeless crack whore very soon at the rate she's going. That dude that was in those pics was totally skeezy looking and I imagine she isn't too picky about who she goes home with lately.

I feel so badly for her. Obviously if she has noone to step in for her, and she is uncapable of seeing that theres something terribly wrong with her behavior, it just wont end well.

You know what has me scratching my head? I watched video of her in court. She stood there, and was still and silent when the judge talked. She nodded in response to what he said and then answered him when it was required.

Considering how erratic her behavior has been lately, I'm surprised she was so composed in court. (With the exception of that awful wig)

She's not that crazy (yet). I mean, it's not like she's pissing on the street or slapping people in their faces. She's odd and deluded, but she's still civilized.

Amanda Bynes is not 5150 material, meaning she can't be picked up against her will and held for mental evaluation, at least not yet ... this according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.

Our sources tell us Amanda has not been diagnosed with any mental illness. Sources say her parents are worried there are signs she might be bipolar or schizophrenic, but Amanda has been unwilling to undergo psychiatric testing.

We're told her parents would like to create an involuntary conservatorship, similar to Britney Spears, but Amanda's conduct is not so over the line that a judge would take away her freedom.

Ditto for a 5150 psychiatric hold, which would allow authorities to put Amanda in a mental facility against her will for 72 hours for mental evaluation. We're told authorities just don't have the goods. In fact, Amanda was taken to a hospital after her arrest Thursday night and the shrinks didn't think an involuntary hold was warranted.

There's one other option to get a diagnosis. If Amanda is so out of it she can't understand the nature of the criminal cases that have been filed against her ... a judge can halt the proceedings and order a psychiatric evaluation. Amanda has been involved in 3 criminal cases in California recently, and there was NO effort to go this route. That's because she has always been lucid in court.

If you watch the video of Friday's court hearings, Amanda clearly understands what's going on and is actually sharp when answering the judge's questions.

Gossip sites don't seem to be able to grasp that the whole world doesn't revolve around the California system of codes and numbers. '5150' and the criteria for it apply only in that one state. Other states operate differently.

A legitimate news organization would know that.

I feel bad for her. She is suffering from something whether it be effects of drugs or mental illness. No person in their right mind would have worn that wig to court. ;)

YES. A family member of mine went into psychosis from smoking weed constantly 24 hours of the day. This person became SO erratic and you would have thought this person was on crack..or schizophrenic. It was TERRIBLE. This person is 100% off smoking weed and back to their self. It wasn't any other drug..just weed. You'd be surprised, it can affect people differently.
