Amanda Bynes Fights Photographer, Doesn't Like the Way She Looked in That First Pic

Amanda Bynes' bizarre behavior continued this week as the embattled former teen star got into a scuffle with a paparazzo ... and it's a lot weirder than you think.

The tussle caught on tape by ET as Bynes was down Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, shielding her face from being photographed. That part was pretty standard.

Then she strangely came over, Amanda she didn't like the way she looked, and tried to reason with the guy, flattering him into deleting the first photo of her.

Amanda then agreed to pose for a new set of photos, yet things turned even uglier after that, and a struggle over control of the camera apparently ensued.

The melee shows the camera, still rolling, flying every which way as the celebrity gossip photographer yelling at the embattled actress to give him back the camera.

He asserts that the star hurt him; Bynes calmly responds, "I didn't touch you."

I hope for her sake this is all an act to get publicity (under the "bad publicity is better than none" train of thought) to restart her career; otherwise, this is just a very sad situation and I hope she gets help.

Sources close to Amanda Bynes tell TMZ her friends are fuming mad with her family ... wondering why they aren't doing more to help the troubled actress before something REALLY bad happens to her.

According to our sources, Amanda's friends do not understand why her family is not being more aggressive when it comes to her wellbeing. We're told her friends are perplexed why they are just standing by and watching Amanda self-destruct.

Our sources say her friends (who feel they have done all they can) want her family to literally break down her door and drag her to get to help.

But that's a problem ... because we're told Amanda has slowly cut off communication from her entire family -- dad, mom, sister and brother -- to the point where she has ceased all communication entirely.

As TMZ first reported, Amanda's family recently moved from Texas to California to be closer to her. According to our sources, they are having the same level of success helping her now as they did before.

This whole video seems fake to me. It just seems odd and fake. The more I watch it the more I'm Convinced its all a set up.

Despite increasingly bizarre behavior the former child star says all is well. But her uncle says things are far from well with his niece.

Reports may have surfaced Monday that Amanda Bynes will soon be checking into rehab, but the former child star insists that she's not following in the footsteps of other troubled starlets like Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears.

Bynes is telling friends that she definitely does not need a conservatorship the way Spears did because she is very much capable of making her own life choices, TMZ reports.

In fact, the actress says, another reason her family has never brought up the possibility of a conservatorship is because she doesn't have mental problems, period.

Bynes' uncle Ronald Bynes reportedly spoke to Celebuzz.com in an interview recently, telling the site that he is concerned for his niece because her immediate family is ignoring the fact that things aren't alright for the "Easy A" actress.

"She needs to stop drinking and driving," Ronald told the site. "She needs help. (Her father) doesn't want to talk about her and often changes the subject. The problem is there's no correspondence (between Amanda and her parents).

"I don't even think they know what's going on with her. They're very upset about her recent problems, but they're in the dark."

A source told E! News Monday that despite reports, Bynes has not checked into rehab, nor does she have plans on doing so.

The 26-year-old starlet first sparked concern when she was involved in a series of fender benders starting when she hit a cop car this past April.

Her most recent vehicular troubles came about when she hit another car on August 4, and consequently had her license suspended on Aug. 25, possibly a direct result of refusing to take a sobriety test back in April.

Bynes still insisted on driving illegally, however, and the actress was most recently photographed in Los Angeles earlier this month, weaving through traffic and smoking from what appeared to be a drug pipe in various parking lots.

Sources close to the actress came forward shortly afterward, claiming that Bynes had troubles that went deeper than drug use: She had been showing signs of mental illness for a while.

According to TMZ, Bynes would oftentimes be seen talking to herself, and would sometimes break into hysterical laughter "for no reason."

The former "All That" actress also occasionally spoke to inanimate objects.

On Monday, Bynes went shopping at boutique shop Kin in West Hollywood, and locked herself inside the dressing room for an hour and 45 minutes, the site reports.

When an employee tried to check in on the starlet, she only replied that she needed "more time."

Later, when she finally emerged, she purchased a pair of stilettos, a pair of sunglasses and several other items before stalking out of the store into a waiting cab.

But, according to TMZ, she realized that she had walked out with a bathing suit top on underneath her dress and returned to the register to pay for the suit as well.

Bynes will likely appear in court Friday for a hearing about her pending DUI case, Us Weekly reports.

Is it wrong for me to like the shoes here???.... I know she is goin' through the ringer now.... but those are some fly :censor: boots....

You know what, I don't get it! Lady GaGa is clearly missing a tool box full of screws and we call it "Art"...Fiona Apple, who weighs less than a pear; gets busted with enough drugs to sedate Snoop Dog and nobody bats an eyelash. But Amanda Bynes hits a couple of cars, takes too long trying on some Sevens and takes a beauty break during a spin class and everyone demands she be committed?! I mean?! How old is she? Do you remember all the SMART things you did when you were a young adult? Let's document your college trip to Cancun or Your Sorority Days?! Just sayin....I DO feel like some of the stuff they're getting on her for IS kind of dumb. (warranted, there ARE red flags) but some of this stuff is just getting blown way out of proportion.

All of the craziness around Amanda is so hard for me to believe. I just never would have seen this coming with her. She always seemed so together and drama-free. The media needs to leave her alone because they seem to be making things worse...as always.
