I wouldn't say that necessarily. I've indulged in the ganga but I've never done anything else besides alcohol. It just depends on a person's comfort level and their own personal limits.

Thats why I said the majority, not all pot smokers do other drugs. But they don't call it a gateway drug for nothing. In Amanda's case, I'm guessing she takes/snorts/smokes just about anything she can to get high.

In response to other comments regarding the family. It doesn't always matter if the family intervenes and or truly cares. My best friend passed away in December after many successful and failed rehab attempts by friends and family. These people are just addictive personalities. They usually substitute one addiction for another so its a lifetime struggle for them. It really is a disease, a mental illness in my opinion. I hope for Amanda's sake she finds it in herself to truly want to live clean. The hole in my heart from losing my friend will never close, its saddest for those who love them.

Amanda Bynes Involved in Fender Bender While Driving on Suspended License

A judge told her to stop driving, so of course she didn't.

Troubled actress Amanda Bynes, who was arrested last week for DUI, is seen driving on the curb by the Chateau Marmont while also texting on her phone as she drove to Greystone Manor in Los Angeles. It is illegal to use your mobile phone for texting while driving in California.

Amanda Bynes covers up. (TMZ)
Amanda Bynes doesn't seem to be paying much attention to a court order to stop driving.

The actress, who recently had her driver's license suspended and was ordered by a judge not to drive, was snapped by TMZ photographers on Thursday night driving her black BMW around the streets of West Hollywood.

Adding to her driving woes, Bynes was also involved in a minor fender bender when she tapped the bumper of a white car while exiting a parking lot on Sunset Blvd. The driver of the white car and Bynes did not exchange information and no damage was caused.

In June the Easy A star was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She has also been charged with two counts of hit-and-run for incidents that happened in April and August. She could face up to one year in jail if she is convicted on both misdemeanor counts.

According to attorney Marc Harrold, Bynes is walking a dangerous line by continuing to drive on a suspended license. "Not only is she violating the law, she's doing it in a way that's aggravating to law enforcement," he said. "I'm a former cop, and it's not just what she's doing — there's a lot of people out there driving on suspended licenses, but when a celebrity does it, and does it openly, she's basically daring the police to do their jobs so that people don't say, 'Well why don't you convict stars?'"

Bynes' lawyer has not yet commented on the incident.

TEDS/Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality:
Marijuana use, especially long- term frequent use, can have
serious adverse effects on physical and mental health, and negatively affect
functioning within the context of school, work, and family.1 Marijuana use has
been associated with cognitive problems, such as distorted perceptions, impaired
coordination, difficulty with thinking and problem solving, and problems with
judgment, learning, and memory. Because the effects of marijuana use on learning and
memory can last for days or weeks after the acute effects have worn off, frequent users
may be continually functioning at reduced cognitive levels.

Found this as well which makes sense to me:
A hotly debated issue is whether marijuana is a “gateway” drug, leading to the use of more dangerous substances. Many studies have found that most people who used other illicit drugs had, in fact, used marijuana first. Although results such as these are consistent with the gateway hypothesis, they do not prove that using marijuana causes the use of other drugs. Those who are drawn to marijuana may simply be predisposed to drug use in general, regardless of their exposure to pot.

No matter what her choice is, she needs MAJOR help and it's INSANE that she's allowed behind a wheel at all. InFreakinSane!

I still see it differently. And this is off topic but I am not too fond of BS parents. They did nothing while she was being worked to death except ride the gravy train. I am not saying they do not love her but Britney had a lot to lose financially if someone did not step in and take control of her situation. And it helps that Britney parents are not active drug addicts.

Lindsay is broke, so are her parents and they are all on drugs.

Back to Amanda, it is possible her parents/family are trying to do something and we just do not know about it. At least I hope.

Her father was denying that she even drinks.

I really feel so badly for this girl.

Thanks swanky, you beat me to posting studies. If I didn't have so many friends that went down the wrong path, maybe I wouldn't be so negative. "Its just weed..."

Just saw on TMZ she was pulled over this evening and what did they do when they found her license was suspended? Issued her a misdemeanor ticket and impounded the car. Do these cops not listen to the radio or watch TV?? Jeez.

Smh

She's going to go nuts without her car, it was her safety blanket. Not to mention you need one in LA!

Does anyone else notice she is always alone in all the pics since April? Even leaving a bar at night, where are are friends? Also when she had to go pick up her car the day after getting DUI, she was just sitting there all alone looking so sad. The first thing you would do is call your BFF/close fam to help you or at least sit with you --but she had no one. She really needs help.

She has a long list of offenses behind the wheel.
And even after having her license suspended earlier this year, Amanda Bynes has still refused to stop driving.
But today there was finally an intervention when police pulled her over and had her black BMW impounded.

According to law enforcement insiders who told TMZ, the former Nickelodeon star was stopped by police this morning at around 9.00am in the Burbank area.
When they ran her license and found it to be suspended, they promptly impounded the actress's black car.

Bynes was also given a misdemeanor ticket for the offense.
It is the second time this month the 26-year-old has been pulled over for driving with a suspended license.
The first time was on September 9, but she was let off with a verbal warning by police.

The new move comes after the troubled actress reportedly had another car accident on Thursday night.
It is believed the former child star was attempting to cover her face while driving her black BMW, according to TMZ, as she drove out of a parking lot on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Amanda then 'tapped the bumper of a white car in front of her' before driving off.
The star was seen with a patterned scarf over her head, covering a large portion of her face which was further hidden by a pair of shades despite it being pitch black outside.

Her suspended driving license is thought to have stemmed from when she refused to give a sobriety test following an arrest in April for a DUI misdemeanor after sideswiping a police car.
Amanda was later charged for the DUI on June 5, and will appear in court later this month.

She was also charged on September 5 with two counts of misdemeanor hit and run for accidents.
The latest incident follows Tuesday's dramas, in which she was spied in the front seat of her car smoking from a pipe, before getting the munchies and gorging on tacos.

Bynes caused concern after she was seen driving around Los Angeles for hours, and seen to be taking multiple hits of what appeared to be marijuana.
The tool which Amanda used was reported to be a pipe designed to look like a car cigarette lighter.
Tuesday's shocking pictures showed Bynes in a parked car, behind the wheel, surrounded by a cloud of smoke as she exhaled from what appeared to be the pipe in question.

Her car was a mess, with stained seats, half-drunk bottles of soda, dog hair and various other items - including remnants of burnt (ie. already smoked) cannabis in the cup holder.
The fall from grace is all the more shocking due to the Californian's previously squeaky-clean image portrayed in Nineties' Nickelodeon shows All That and The Amanda Show.

It is believed Amanda was first spotted in the parking lot of Baja Fresh in the San Fernando Valley, where she smoked from the pipe and ate tacos after being struck by the munchies.
She is then said to have driven off, visiting a spa for three hours, before taking to the roads aimlessly 'for several hours, sometimes cutting off other drivers and violating traffic laws.'

The Teen Choice Award-winner eventually drove to a Home Depot store, to purchase some coloured light bulbs, where she again smoked from the pipe in the parking lot.
According to Radar, friends are concerned that Amanda is 'not in touch with reality.'
With one saying: 'Amanda is refusing to go to rehab or seek any form of psychiatric treatment or diagnosis, because it's clear something is up with her.

'She has been told by her agent and her dad Rick that she has substance abuse issues and needs to get help. She's a lost little girl right now.'
Yet father Rick defended his daughter, telling People in April: 'She was not drunk. I was told that she blew a zero on the breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. She doesn't drink.'
Amanda also tried to speak out, tweeting: 'Hey @BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end.'

Whether weed is labelled a "gateway drug" or not seems to depend on the source
I'm sorry, but most people I know have smoked weed, but I know hardly any people who have done any hard drugs (except alcohol, of course). Agree to disagree.
