He nearly got Britney killed IIRC. He needs to be kept the hell away. Someone stronger than her parents need to accept conservatorship and this girl needs real help and stability.

She's at the Aurora Las Encinas Hospital here in Pasadena. Trust me, it does not look like a hotel .. The Huntington Hospital does. Plus, a drive from LAX to Pasadena (depending on traffic) can be a minimum of an hour (if not more), so she must have been really out of it to realize that she wasn't going into WeHo (which is a heck of a lot closer).

I really hope that she gets the help she sorely needs. I kind of wonder about her parents though; they just seem like they really don't care about her other than her ability to make $$$. So sad ..

TMZ has posted (it's copied a few posts above) that she was told she was first meeting her lawyers in Pasadena, and then going to The London to confront her parents. When she got to Pasadena, she was met by doctors at the hospital.

It will be beyond sad if it comes out that she has been close with Lufti for years. That would certainly explain her behavior. Not so much that she has a mental health issue, but that it has likely been exacerbated by him. I would think his name would have come out before now if he was that close to her but who knows.

Amanda Bynes's parents - including the father she accused of abuse - visit troubled star in psychiatric care

  • Rick Bynes and Lynn Organ seen at Las Encinas Hospital, Pasadena, CA
  • Came after troubled daughter flew to LAX and was 'put under psych hold'
  • Had just accused her father of molesting her - then immediately recanted
  • Journey to LA was linked to controversial managed Sam Lutfi
  • Claims he tempted her to California with the prospect of suing her parents
  • But when she got into a car to 'meet with lawyers' found herself in hospital

Amanda Bynes's parents have visited the troubled star at the California hospital where she is being held against her will.
Rick Bynes and Lynn Organ were pictured arriving at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, where their daughter was taken after flying into LAX yesterday, where she made rambling claims to photographers and seemed unwell.
She was driven to hospital and reportedly taken under a psychiatric hold after being tricked into flying to California by Sam Lutfi, the controversial manager who was blamed for Britney Spears's public 2008 breakdown.

Amanda Bynes 'was in touch with Britney Spears' controversial ex-manager Sam Lutfi' ...hours before she was placed under 5150 psychiatric hold on Friday

It followed a troubling outburst by the star, 28, who accused her own father of sexually abusing her as a child - before retracting the tirade and saying a microchip in her head made her say it.

Amanda's mom issued a statement in the aftermath, refuting the claims and saying she was 'heartbroken'.
But Amanda seemed not to have made peace with her family after she had landed, telling paparazzi she had 'taken out a restraining order' against her dad.

Moments later she was taken to the hospital, where, according to TMZ, she was held under section 51510 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.
The law lets mentally ill people who are classified as a danger to themselves or others be taken in against their will.

History repeating itself? Britney Spears seen in 2007 with her controversial ex manager Sam Lutfi, shortly before she suffered a public breakdown

Her detention is another twist in the star's very public downward spiral, which had previously culminated in claims she was getting married - which were promptly swatted away by her would-be groom.
On Wednesday Amanda tweeted the supposed news of her engagement - saying her wedding was going to go on the front of a major magazine.

Troubled: Britney Spears in 2007 when she was managed by Sam Lutfi

But Caleb Pusey, her supposed betrothed, said the pair weren't even dating - and that he hadn't even spoken to her in months.
Friends of Caleb, 19, told TMZ that the engagement was a figment of Amanda's imagination. She repeated the claims after landing at LAX - though she refused to name the man in question when asked.

The journey was reportedly a scheme masterminded by Sam Lutfi, whom Britney Spears's family blame for her 2008 breakdown during which she shaved off all her hair.
Sources claim that Amanda - who tweeted her affection for Lutfi hours before taking off - had convinced her to sue her parents, and told her to come to LA to meet with attorneys.
On arrival she told photographers that she was going to meet with 'sick lawyers'. But a report in TMZ said that when she stepped out of her car she was surrounded by hospital staff instead.
Lutfi recently tweeted a response to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who has asked after Amanda. He said: 'She's in good hands now. Many thanks to all those that helped along the way.'
And now Perez claims Bynes has told them: 'Last time I trusted Lutfi he put me in a conservatorship which ended in August I'm not stupid.
'You are all listening to my brain…I can handle Sam, he just flew me back to LA and I'm going to meet some sick lawyers.'

Lutfi has strenuously denied any claims that he was responsible for Britney's meltdown.
On his Twitter bio, he says he was 'FALSELY accused of doing horrible things by horrible people.'
Britney's mother Lynne Spears blamed Lutfi for his involvement in her daughter's breakdown, when he managed her in 2007 and 2008.
Amanda is expected to be held at the hospital for 72 hours, but the hold can be extended for a further 14 days.
It is expected that her parents will try to get another conservatorship.

Oops: The troubled star appeared to drop her phone as she walked through the terminal

The news comes after a source had told MailOnline that at 6am Friday morning Amanda, tried unsuccessfully to buy a ticket out of Manhattan.
According to the airport insider the actress then left the airport in a taxi hoping to be able to catch a flight out of JFK.
When contacted by the MailOnline the Port Authority confirmed Amanda had been at the airport but a spokesman said 'there were no summons and no arrests' made over the incident.

It was claimed the Easy A actress tried 'to force a ticket agent into re-routing a plane'.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Amanda Bynes' claim that a microchip implanted in her brain made her tweet bad things about her father could be key evidence in keeping the actress in a mental facility, according to experts.

Bynes, 28, was admitted to a Pasadena, California, facility on an involuntary emergency psychiatric hold Friday, but a probable cause hearing must be held this week if her doctors want to keep her there.

Her admission to Las Encinas Hospital came hours after Bynes posted a series of tweets alleging her father verbally, physically and sexually abused her. However, she disavowed responsibility for the accusations in a tweet a short time later: "My dad never did any of those things The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."

Bynes then boarded a flight from New York to Los Angeles, where she told reporters at the airport that she was there to file a lawsuit against her parents.

While she was told that a limo driver was taking her to a lawyer's office in Pasadena before going to a West Hollywood hotel, she was instead driven to the hospital -- which resembles an office park -- where her parents' lawyer was waiting for her.

"In a perfect world, one would be honest about getting a person into a psychiatric hospital, but from her past behavior we have seen that Amanda Bynes avoids psychiatric hospitals at all cost because she doesn't believe that she's sick," Dr. Carole Lieberman, a Los Angeles psychiatrist who has followed Bynes' story, told CNN on Sunday.

If the psychiatrists at Las Encinas Hospital decide to extend Bynes' involuntary treatment beyond the initial 72 hours allowed for evaluation under California's "5150" law, they must convince a mental health referee that she is "a danger to self, to others or is gravely disabled," Lieberman said.

There does not have to be any expressed desire to kill herself, but the doctors need to show evidence that her behavior was so dangerous that it "presented a risk to herself, if not others," Lieberman said.

One reason for keeping psychiatric patients on an involuntary hold is if they are "having auditory hallucinations" or they are "responding to internal stimuli," according to guidelines on the Los Angeles County Superior Court website.

Unless Bynes volunteers to stay in treatment, the doctors must make their case, according to attorney Wendy Patrick. "They can't just make up evidence. It has to be true and observable. The hearing is not just a rubber stamp."

Her tweet about a microchip forcing her to write negative things about her father would not be the only potential evidence, based on her very public history of odd behavior and several criminal charges.

Bynes was arrested on a DUI charge in Sherman Oaks, California, last month. Her arrest report noted a "disheveled appearance."

Her last several days in New York included an incident at a clothing store in which security officers accused her of shoplifting. She was let go after signing a "no-trespass agreement," TMZ reported.

Bynes was charged with a hit-and-run in 2012, hospitalized for treatment last year after a psychological evaluation and put on probation after a DUI earlier this year.

And she was arrested after allegedly tossing drug paraphernalia out of the window of her New York apartment in May 2013.

This is the second time Bynes has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold. The previous instance came in July 2013 after she was "involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood" in Thousand Oaks, California. She eventually entered an inpatient psychiatric facility and was later released into her parents' custody.

In September: Amanda Bynes arrested on DUI charge

The latest episodes of odd behavior come a year after her parents told CNN their daughter was "making great strides towards recovery" from mental illness.

She enrolled into the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles at the start of 2014, but she dropped out in the summer.

Bynes' parents will not be allowed to attend the administrative hearing, which would be held at the hospital, unless their daughter invites them, according to court guidelines. They have not publicly indicated if they will ask a judge to give them legal control of their daughter under a conservatorship.

Lieberman said if Bynes is returned to a conservatorship under her parents, as was done last year, they need to work with a psychiatrist to "work out the family dysfunction."

People magazine reported in 2012 that Bynes tried to emancipate herself while still a minor, though she never moved out entirely.
