The pictures I posted above are the ones the seller sent me (AFTER i purchased it- the picture she used on Ebay were of the REAL bag) Here I have links to the pictures I just took tonight. The last picture is of the handle where there is a nick on the leather... does leather even do this? Or is this just another indication of it being a fake? I took pictures of the "made in china" logo because earlier on here it was confirmed that it IS in fact made in china but someone who bought the bag from Barney's said the made in china tag is in black so I just wanted to take a picture of it for verification. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks :)

:wtf:OMG! AKE, that is a really bad FAKE. I'm not an expert nor an authenticator of this Coco bag nor anybody here is yet, but just by looking at your photos, the leather has hardly any texture at all. As you can see all the pictures posted w/ the celebs carrying them here, their bags are really gorgeous w/ very pebbled textured leather. Nothing compared to what you got.

Here's the REAL Coco...(see the texture of the leather)

If I were you, I would file a dispute w/ Ebay & Paypal or whichever CC you payed it w/, this is a rip off! :sad:So sorry, this happened to you. I'm sure you can get your money back & please don't buy this bag on Ebay again, because you can't have it authenticated here yet. Buy it directly from the reputable stores, you'll just have to be patient if they're sold out, you can pre-order it. At least you have a peace of mind that you're definitely getting the real one. Goodluck, I hope you'll end up getting the REAL Coco.

Hi guys,

Now my dilemma is how do I go about getting rid of it? I do NOT want to be carrying around a fake bag or support it in any way shape or form. BUT I do want my $200 back. I am paranoid about keeping my 100% positive feedback on ebay so I am scared to ask the seller for a refund because I guess I am blaming myself for being stupid to fall for a too good to be true deal. What do you guys think I should do? Thanks :)

AKE,
I really feel really bad for you...

Sellers can't leave any negative feedbacks to buyers anymore. You need to open a dispute file on Ebay w/ the reason of counterfeit designer bags & demand a refund from the seller. Don't leave the seller a negative feedback yet, not until she refunded you your money. Then, when you get your money back, make sure to mention on your negative feedback to the seller that she's selling FAKE bags, so that other buyers will know & be warned from buying from her in the future. Don't worry, she can't leave you a negative feedback.

Hey @imlvholic Thanks for the quick response... Should I try talking to the seller first about the bag asking for a refund or should I just open a dispute?

she was really curt when I asked her to authenticate it- she was like I don't have time. I described it perfectly. or something... even though the pictures she used were of the authentic bag. And I do NOT want to have to try and get rid of this myself because then I'd be just as guilty as her! (I feel almost dirty having it lol)

Here is what I am sending her:

Hi,

I received my bag yesterday. There is a tear on the handle in the material, and I am unhappy with the bag as it is a fake. The picture you used on the auction was of the authentic bag and that is why I purchased it. I would like to get a full refund and I will ship the item back.
Thank you"

I would immediately go file a claim with paypal and ebay. I would also escalate the claim right away too. No point in messing around, you have a fake and you want your money back and it sounds like your seller isn't very cooperative. Also, you should post this on the ebay forum for more help.

Good luck!

Ake,

sorry its a fake. but the pictures you first posted from the auction were also of a fake bag so unless she stated in her auction that the bag is "authentic" then it will be hard to get your money back..
good luck!!

Hey guys,

The picture she posted in the listing was this one: monicais.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/alexander-wang-coco-duffel-500x266.jpg
which is of the REAL bag.
The auction read this: "I only carried this bag once. It is fall's IT bag and can be seen on celebrities such as Kristin Cavallari, from The Hills, the Olsen twins, and Ashley Tisdale. The bag is beautiful, and I hate to part with it so soon, but I need the money! It still smells like new leather! Make this bag yours today! I ship from the US!"

Just because she doesn't claim it is authentic doesn't mean she is in the right because it is illegal and against ebay and paypal's rules to sell fakes. Anyway she messaged me back this morning saying this:
"I find I hard to believe the handle ripped in the box. The bag was sent in perfect condition. I'm sorry that you're unhappy, but I never claimed the bag was authentic. You didn't ask me any questions until after you had purchased the bag."

Which is true I did not ask her questions until after I bought the bag- but I assumed it was real because I guess I am naive and cant imagine that people would sell fakes. Anyway I totally didn't do anything to harm the bag, it came out of the box like that (which is funny she said that because she literally took the bag and put it in a flat rate box, no tissue paper or anything so since it is a fake the leather rubbing on the cardboard in transit could easily make that nick on the leather) let me know your guys' thoughts! thanks

Just sent this message:

Hi there,
I am giving you a link to the picture of the rip on the handle: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/C9oLIycsxaEIEaN3i7sVEw?feat=directlink
I want to settle this so I do not have to file a dispute through ebay and paypal etc. It is against Ebay and Paypal's terms of service to sell replica bags- I cannot re-sell the bag because of the handle and since it is a replica and expect to get my $200 back... I think what happened is since you just put it in the box with nothing around it to protect it, the bag rubbing on the cardboard made the nick in the handle- I JUST got the bag and would not do anything like that to harm it. Let's try to settle this. Thanks."

it is pretty inevitable to not have fakes on ebay or anything you can buy online nowadays. you just have to do your research more and be cautious. if someone listed an "it" bag for a cheaper price on ebay should be reason enough for you to question urself if it's too good to be true.

I know, I feel completely retarded... but I just want to know if I have basis to return the bag and get my money back which I feel I do- since It is against ebay and paypal policy to sell replica bags.
