speaking of customer service, i was pretty dissappointed with mickmargo
when i called to pre-order, i never got an e-mail
so i called again asking why nadine never e-mailed me
and the girl just said she was a bit backed up on e-mails and would e-mail me.
i never got the e-mail.
so when it was avalible to pre-order online i just did that
and i e-mailed them about a question i had about 2 months ago
i never got a response to that either...
i even checked my junk mail several times to see if it went there, but nothing
i wonder if you all had any of the same problems?

I've had good response from Nadine - several times I had to wait for a response from her - what I did was to email her a second time and would normally hear from her right away. I think she was just overwhelmed - I think it's a small shop and I'm not sure how many people work there!

I'd try again - I believe you can send her an email directly to [email protected].

As far as the 35% discount - that was a luckybreaks7 code - I'm not sure if it is still in effect.

I saw an almost identical rip-off of that bag at ZARA today. It wasn't real leather of course, but it had the texture just like the original, and of course the studs. It was about 60$. A shame, I don't want the original now anymore, because you almost cannot tell the difference.

Ok I just got back from zara. (Dashed up there as soon as I saw the post because I would love to have a cheaper version ;) but personally i don't think the zara bag is worth $60 even. $20 maybe. It is a very thin plastic - and not even really trying too hard to be 'pleather' :) and the studs are only on the bottom edges of the bag not all the way across the bottom. You can definitely easily tell the difference between the zara bag and the Alexander Wang black pebbled leather series. I think you are going to be very happy to have the real thing! :)
Maybe broke but happy ;)
Some of those online replicas do look pretty conving however - in photos anyway

What should you be looking for to make sure that it is not a fake? I am just wondering because I purchased one over eBay and now am scared that it may be fake. It looked real from the pictures but I need expert advice!!

definitely make sure the label says made in CHINA (not italy) -- we learned that the other day

the leather should be VERY THICK and PEBBLED. if you want to see an example, go to Barneys Co op and look at any of the black Alexander Wang bags there. (in NYC they have the vest bag, the large duffle without the studs)

not sure what else... i don't own one myself (pout) but maybe one of the ladies who owns an authentic bag can help you out...

Yes! Any help from someone who owns one would be GREAT!!

Thank you!!

Singer81,
Are you in the States? If you are, you should take the bag to any store that carries any of AW's bag line & they can probably help you. If you're abroad, you can e-mail AW if they have a list of stores that carry their bags, on your location. Or if you really want a peace of mind & 100% sure you get the REAL 1, buy it from the reputable store.
I hope that helps.

jennytalula i've seen the zara one and it's nothing near the wang bag imo, i mean at first sight i was like wowww and seeing it come with the long strap and all, but when i got close to it and hold it, the material is pleather and the studs only comes on the bottom edges, i'd rather get the real thing

Yes - I live in NY. I was just impatient and wanted the bag so I went on eBay. But I just want to know if there is anything besides the Made in China to look for to know whether it's a fake!

Bring your bag to Barneys in Madison Ave., AW has a section on the upper floor (Check w/ information what floor, I forgot). AW has other bags that have the same leather as the Coco, the SA can show you & you can compare or show them your bag. I was there & checked them out & saw the actual leather & brass studs that is used on the Coco since all there Cocos were all long gone, it's so soft, thick, gorgeous texture, the studs are so interesting, I can just imagine the actual bag. After seeing his line, I decided to pre-order 1 for me. I don't think anybody here can help you on what to look at, because this bag is very new & most of us are still waiting for our bags. :coolio:
