I just want to caution against using the Edge kote in black, i did so last year on the piping of my Rocco and it has been left with a very noticeable sheen and patent effect that is different from the rest of the bag.... :-(

Did you use the black edge kote or neutral? I haven't used it on a black bag, but I used it on luggage and mustard. It did leave a shine, but not super shiny. I'm wondering if neutral is better? Have you tried using black matte shoe polish to tone down the shine?

Ack i used the black thinking that it would help with the colour that had rubbed off, the piping was turning a weird blue/green shade where the black dye had rubbed off and it was bugging me. I hate the effect of the edge kote more though because now it is startlingly obvious that the piping is a different finish than the rest of the bag. Do you think shoe polish will work?

Can one you lavely ladies tell me what color this is?:smile1:

I apologize if these are redundant pics but these are just reminders of how beautiful and versatile the Rocco is as styled by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (borrowed from the celeb style subforum)

Yeah, you have a point. I would like to know if Susan treated black piping and what color she used.

See my response to you above :D

I used black edgekote on my Black, and neutral on my Luggage and Ocean. I applied the black lightly and with a paintbrush, and I didnt notice any shiny or patent like finish once it dried. That being said, I did treat the entire edging with the edgekote-not just the spots that were a tad faded (to give it an even look)

I applied mine lightly with a q-tip and mine didn't have an unusual shine either.
I think I'll test black on the bottom part of the piping for my new black rocco.
