Hi everyone - I got a black/brass combo rocco on hold. I've tried it a few times and it feels heavier than my Birkin. Can I get some feedback/input from you please? Otherwise, I love this bag - the shape, the leather, the cool factor...:p

What model\year is it? Does it have a shoulder strap?

I swear the newer model is lighter than the original. I had one of the earlier models, and just bought a black\brass with a strap and especially on the shoulder, it's quite comfortable. Not as light at say a bv veneta or goyard, but some of my Chloe bags have been heavier.

I have a grey rocco (from 09) and I loaded it up with 1. iPad 2. Blackberry Curve 3. Dr Dre earphones 4. change purse full of change 5. Large leather wallet 6. Cosmetic purse 7. Wet wipes and 8. keys. Thought it would feel RIDICULOUS because yes, it's a heavy bag. But it's lighter than my paddington with the same amount of stuff and I was able to carry it in the crook of my arm for about a mile straight and didn't feel strained.

With that said, I can also fit it over my shoulder and I'm relatively muscular, 5'8", UK size 10 (US 6/8).

I have the black/brass without a shoulder strap and I don't find it that heavy. It is heavier than most, if not all, of my other bags but I really don't even notice it that much. I do what baglover1973 does and change from my forearm to my hand every so often.

has anyone had any problems with the thread on the handles coming loose? ive had my black rocco with the strap for about 2 months and one part of the thread on thr handles started to unravel :( i have 2 other roccos and neither of them had that problem :(

I am curious, does anyone know if the black/black sold by Gilt is the old one or the newer lighter rocco? Thinking it's the older heavy one as I do find mine fairly heavy. I will probably only carry it when I know I won't be standing around for a long time (ex. commuting to and from work). Will be my weekend bag.

Has anyone noticed that the corner piping on the rocco scuffs easily? Nothing that a little conditioner can't fix, but I was wondering if anyone found a great cure-all, or if this is something that I'm just going to have to live with....

I haven't seen any photos specifically of the rocco strap anywhere, so thought I would post a few for reference.
