the quilted Luggage is very pretty! I looked at that one yesterday, but it looked so orange (on GILT), but it's such a pretty shade of brown - I also like how it's distressed and parts of the leather are darker than others (as if it were washed). Your pics really show off its beauty!!


thank you all for the addtl info. I've visited this thread off and on since it was started, so I'm familiar with the name changes, the sizes, the changes in the hardware. I've gone back & forth whether or not to get one, but have yet to see one in person which is why I'm so curious about the bag I just bought! I can't wait for it to get here tho, so that I can FINALLY see what all the fuss and excitement is all about! The more I look at the pics and read what others have had to say, I actually think the black studs might be better for me - less "in your face" and more subtle, which for someone of my age, is probably much better!!

Thank you bagachondriac!! I feel the exact same way about your Grey Rocco!! Sadly, we both missed out yesterday too!:shucks: I actually got this beauty from a friend and paid $650. The bag was slightly used and had already developed some patina, but being that it's inherent to the nature of the leather, I really don't mind! I actually love that aspect of this leather, has a very vintage-y vibe!

Wow. I also like how the quilted luggage is the kind of bag that you can do whatever you want with it ... not very high maintenance, since whatever happens to it will just add to the vintage look and feel!

I could see how the color can be deceiving, and it really is one of those bags/leathers you need to see in person to appreciate! I know it's not for everyone, but I just LOVE it!!!

I love my grey also, however like you, I love the vintage-y look of your cognac mini. And yes...we certainly did miss out yesterday! My mistake was checking out the bags in the first two rows for a minute or two before scrolling down to see what else might be available! I immediately put myself on the wait list as soon as I saw that it was in someone elses cart. That, plus I refreshed the page continually (every 3-4 seconds)for one solid hour! Others were able to score bags by doing the very same thing, but I wasn't that lucky. What is the point in wait listing an item if when someone removes it from their cart, it then can be grabbed up by another member rather than going to the wait list? I don't get it!

You said the leather was darker than it looks -- how accurate would you say the studs are? they look pretty dark. I know I'll know soon enough as the bag shouldn't take too long to get here, but I'm just trying to determine if the black studs blend w/the black leather or if they still stand out. TIA!

The black studs are black, not gunmetal. They blend in more than say the brass or silver studs, but I still notice them. It doesn't just look like a black bag IMO. You can tell it is a Rocco. :)

SCOOBIESMAMA: AMAZING!!! its funny that you say this bag isn't for everyone-- that s exactly what I thought when I saw the bag, and I loved it ever since, (but I had to go for black/brass, it was calling me...) The next thought I had was exactly what you said right after-that you are rocking it-...this bag is not for everyone, but for those who can pull it off, can freaking rock it and rock it well. ROCK IT!!!! its sooo nice and i love the vintagey look, its incredible!!!! enjoy her!

I'm just curious as to what everyone's thoughts on this are ---
Do you think this bag (the Rocco) has an age limit?
Do you think it's a bag that's designed and meant to be carried by the "younger crowd", or do you think anyone can carry it, if they're comfortable with it?

Absoluteely NOT, I do not think this bag has an age limit.... If you love it you can pull it off. I am in love with mine...I think once you get it you will not regret it.

THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT ON ANY BAG!!! you can rock whatever the hell you want whenever you want; if you like it, go for it, it doesnt matter who you are or how old you are!!!!!

pradapiggy-should i spray my black one? youre using a spray from danier?

bellabags23- did you ever find that bag that is on your signature? is it the velvet leather in luggage?

I don't know about the black ones because they're black so they can withstand water and dirt, but I would spray it just in case, since this spray doesn't make the leather change colours... And yup, it's the Danier Defense Spray. I got it when I bought my leather jacket back in April and it was I think $9.99 :smile1:
