while looking through this thread and oohing and aahing over everyone's pics! I just realized that the Black and Light Grey Rocco have a diff shape/design -- has anyone ever noticed this before or know why this is?

Look at the end of the Light Grey bag - its taller and almost "bell" shaped and compeltely flat -- whereas the black is round and has a seam up the center. I notice the ones on GILT looked just like these. Does anyone know why the Light Grey is designed differently from the black? Is this the only color that's shaped like that?

amanda - the cones are different depending on the seasons. The originals are just smooth cones with just one ridge along the bottom of the cone. Then, in 2009/2010 (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not 100% sure), some of the bags have the 3 ridged cones or the "spikey" cones which are known as the "cupcake" cones. The shapes of the Roccos aren't different... They're both pretty symmetrically cylindrical. The bags in the photos look different because it's just the way the bags slouch.
Also, the one on the right is a Mini so it has the side zipper pocket which is what the rectangular block of leather is. The Baby doesn't have a side zipper pocket.

Oh, I see what you're saying -- I didn't realize that was the side pocket that's been mentioned. Wow -- there's not a whole lotta difference between the Baby and Mini, huh? I thought both of those bags were the same size! Thank you for clarifying that for me!!:smile1:

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi everyone"! I ordered a baby rocco in black and I'm over the moon excited since its my first AW piece! Annnd now I get to join the AW Rocco club!

You ladies are super helpful-Thanks for all the pics and details, although I'm now lusting over the grey baby rocco.

Size of mini (roughly) 14" x 11" x 10"
Size of baby (roughly) 11"H x 12"L x 9"D
Mini has side zipped pocket, baby does not (which may of made the side of the mini bag look distorted and different in those baby and mini side by side comparison pics that somebody posted) the different colours are not different designs, just a difference between mini and baby SIZES
Coco was original name for the bag, had to be changed due to copyright reasons (i think because of CHANEL) so now is named Rocco
Only 2 sizes were ever released, the original "mini" size and the "baby" size, there was never a large, regular, whatever...
Studs are different per season, they have gone from looking like bullets to looking like cupcakes :graucho:
They have now added an optional detachable messenger strap to most newer version roccos, plus there are now different variations on the leather- the original pebbled version, the laser cut leather and suede (velvet) :tup::flowers:

thanks for that link pradapiggy!!!! My "new mini rocco" black/brass has the one ridge on the studs, whereas the new grey and forest green have the studs with several ridges. it seems like its on the silver studded bags, whereas the new laser cut black velvet with brass studs has the same as mine, with the one ridge on them...i am yet to see a black/brass version where the studs have mroe than one ridge or level...maybe on the baby? i never seen the studs like that on the mustard...those definitely look like cupcakes!!! i also see that the cupcake ones are on the luggage coloured bag, too

OH MY LORD! The colour and leather are beautiful! So perfectly vintage, like mentioned before. Oh man, I just want to touch it. It's so droolworthy, lol!

Wow. I also like how the quilted luggage is the kind of bag that you can do whatever you want with it ... not very high maintenance, since whatever happens to it will just add to the vintage look and feel!

Congrats!!! I love it!
