GAHHH, I JUST ordered the grey Baby Rocco on sale from shopbop!!!
It took a lot of research (aka reading through the millions of pages on this forum), but I definitely like the grey better than the black so I hope I'm not disappointed, especially with the weight :S

I'm so excited, but the package is estimated to arrive by August 2nd (I went with USPS to avoid customs/brokerage/duty fees)!!!!!! That's the latest date as shipping takes 7-20 days with USPS but man oh man, that's such a long wait!! EEEEK.

edit--Also, I had a lot of trouble deciding between the Mini and the Baby but i found that I don't exactly NEED the extra space (or weight!). I hope it doesn't look like a toy when I hold it (I'm 5'5")...

Hi

This is my first post, I'm a newbie and researching my first bag!

I'm currently having the same dilemma with the grey rocco! I have seen it in Shopbop, and its a great price (compared to how much they are here in the UK!) but, I also love the black/brass just as much, and am worried I will not like the grey as much IRL....plus I'm not sure I wanted the mini, I'm 5ft 10 but have a lot of large bags, which I fill up, then are too heavy to carry!

This will be my first 'real' designer bag (although I own several Lulu Guinness Bags) hubby is buying me a Vernis Alma but I love this bag too....!

What to do!?

it's not on sale but Aloha Rag has the baby with black studs for $695

i live in the UK as well and can absolutely recommend them. I just bought the Alexander Wang Diego from them for $825, i ordered on Friday, they emailed me Saturday and i had to send them a copy of my bank statment (just the address and account number part at the top of the page (you can fax them or scan and email, being a weekend i didn't have either, i said i would fax them Monday and when i was back at work and they emailed me back to suggest a photo of my statement emailed to them). It was despatched Monday by Fed Ex with tracking number and i received it this morning (Thursday). Shipping was free and they marked customs form $206 - they mark 25% of the value of the bag.

I have actually heard great things about that site, another member (Chloe i believe) ordered her Rocco from them and was very impressed also, i may have to give them a try, thankyou so much for your response, you are a sweetie :flowers:

I am currently in possession of a black Rocco w/ brass studs and a velvet cut Rocco in smoke. I have to send one back and I am SO conflicted. I love love the color/stud combo of the velvet cut but I am a little concerned about how the bag might wear. It's a really unique looking bag but I wonder sometimes if it looks like...corduroy? Any of you guys seen it in person and have thoughts on wear and/or appearance?

The black is great too, of course. Love the leather. Looks really durable.

Help me decide!
I'm not really a fan of the other materials other than the original pebbled texture. I've seen the velvet cut & I think it's more delicate.

Damn, I couldn't wait - the grey was calling my name!

I bought it!

Awaiting delivery in the next week or so!!
:yahoo:

YAY! ShopBop, right?! Such a great price, too bad I'll be waiting so long for it!!

Maybe these photos will help sway you more... http://vanillascented.freshnet.se/2009/11/20/oh-wang/
These photos are what sold me, not the ones on the site!!! I love the light purpley undertone. You can continue going forward in her posts to see them with her outfits.. one of my favourite bloggers!

I got my forest rocco and I have to say it's my fave! It's more like a washed black with a hint of green...pretty unique! I also have the gray, which I'm thinking I might want to keep since it's such a nice dove gray. Sooo hard to decide!

The newer gray is lighter, more of a dove gray. That was last year's gray, which I thought I was going to get....but I'm over it!

I thing have the black w/ brass and looooove it. I had a gray diego that I sold because I was too afraid of having my jeans rub dye onto it.... but it's up to you, wouldn't want to pass up a great price as well. btw this bag is heavy to begin with, just letting you know since you are saying your other bags become too heavy to carry :thinkin:

It's not too white and pasty, but it's a pale gray. Here are pics of mine:

Congrats ladies on all the new bags:yahoo:!!
Tx Don't you just love the Forrest?! It really reminds me of Bal's Anthracite shade and seems so versatile. After my momentary bout of insanity when I considered parting with mine I quickly came to my senses and she's not left my side since:p

I LOVE Forest too!
I have not worn a Bal or Chanel since I got this bag, except when I had to get dressed up to go out and the AW was a bit too casual.
This color is truly versatile, and perfect for my wardrobe because I wear lots of greys, military greens, blacks.....and mostly jeans and tees of some sort.
Just as a FYI....I got caught in the rain, and the bag got pretty wet but a half hour later had dried and looks just perfect!
