I'm presuming the reindeer are more difficult to tip than cows, as the reindeer are slightly more mobile. But I'd lay odds there have been attempts over the years. Also probably moose tipping as well.
A gift shop in my airport now sells cow tipping t-shirts. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

:wtf:.......not cool

Cry. And I don't know if they are easier, but nothing gets more angry than a tipped cow, so reindeer have competition. (and I don't condone it, before PETA pops up to condemn me..). Is it already ski season in Sweden?

Anger does not cut it.........we only like to go udders up during a romantic 'encounter' (see what i did there;))

Zola thank you for the pic and gif......i love that gif:graucho:

Thank you everyone for all of the pics, interviews and vids...i have been resting up and having a great time catching up on all the news.........and studying the pics....hard:graucho:

Another interview...from The Globe and Mail:

Alexander Skarsgard’s latest role: Calvin Klein scent spokesman

Alex-Globe.jpg

On True Blood, an encounter with Alexander Skarsgard’s vampire anti-hero often ends in bloodshed. Luckily for Alon Freeman , who sat down for a face-to-face with the Swedish-born actor and spokesman for Encounter by Calvin Klein, the new men’s scent boasting a heady blend of cognac, pepper and rum, Skarsgard is less volatile in real life, although he does feel that a whiff of mystery goes a long way.

Encounter by Calvin Klein is quite sexy and masculine. Is that why they chose you to represent the fragrance? Would you describe yourself that way?

I’m still waiting for them to tell me it’s a joke and they’ve actually found the real guy. I don’t really think about myself that way at all.

Style-wise, Swedish men seem to favour a cleaner, sharper line and a darker palette. What is it about the culture that inspires that look?

In general, Swedish style is minimalistic. In the thirties, forties and midcentury, there were amazing architects coming out of Sweden. I’m an expat [Skarsgard lives in California], but I grew up [in Stockholm] and so of course when I got my first home in L.A. I went out and got a very modern, Swedish-looking, [Richard] Neutra-style house. I think there is something about the old platitude that less is more. It leaves more room for imagination.

You started acting as a child with encouragement from your father [actor Stellan Skarsgard], then took a break before returning as an adult. Was there another career that you were seriously considering in between?

Architect – I was interested in that. When I was a kid, I also wanted to be a [soccer] player, but I realized early on that I had zero talent.

I read a quote in which you stressed the importance of preserving a sense of mystery as an actor. Is there something about the Swedish national character that cultivates mystery?

Growing up with an actor as a father, I saw how he handled [the job], so it seemed natural for me. For him, it was important to protect his family, to keep that private and preserve some kind of normalcy, not share everything with everyone.

Also, Swedes generally don’t show off. There are plenty of very rich people in Stockholm, but you aren’t going to see many pink Lamborghinis on the street or big fake mansions with fake Greek columns. It’s a culture where people don’t really talk about success. You strive for it, but it’s kind of frowned upon in Sweden to brag. Personally, it’s difficult for me to know why someone would care about what kind of sandwich I ate for lunch.

I’m not saying Tweeting is bad – it’s a great platform if you have an important message and a great way to connect, in terms of charitable causes or in politics. Just look at the Arab Spring. But I’m an actor. Do people care? I don’t – not about myself in that way. It’s so me, me, me.

This interview has been condensed and edited.

I don't think so. Maybe he's just taking long walks in the woods, taking in the fresh crisp air.

I went out and got a very modern, Swedish-looking, [Richard] Neutra-style house

Now I have to go look up Richard Neutra style housing.

And do like his quote on Tweeting. I think he'd probably end with a more interesting Twitter feed than certain other people.

Just looked Richard Neutra up BC. It's what you'd expect....sleek lines, minimalist and quietly elegant. Suits Skars to a T. The houses I looked at were really beautiful in their simplicity.

As always but still true: thanks a bunch Ladies for finding all the tweets, pics, gifs, vids, interviews and goodies (old ones and new ones) - I still love it all!:smooch:

Another interview from the Berlin CK Encounter promotion:

Google Translation is pretty choppy:

My train was late so I gave it a try and translated it but it doesn't get any better because the reporter/blogger sounds like a wannabe hippster who's got a very lousy style of writing and was browbeaten by Alex presence.

How does the hottest Hollywood vampire smells like?
THOMAS HELBING, stylebook, 12 October 2012

If Alexander Skarsgard gets undressed, Robert Pattinson may as well give up! Since his part in the vampire series "True Blood," Skarsgard is considered a sex symbol, he was voted "Sexiest Man" five times in Sweden. Now Calvin Klein has nabbed the 36-year-old actor as model for their new men's fragrance "Encounter". STYLEBOOK met the pretty Scandinavian export for an interview.

STYLEBOOK: Alexander Skarsgard how does it feel to be a perfume model?

Alexander Skarsgard: Great! This is my first campaign ever. Calvin Klein has never worked with an actor on a men's fragrance before. I'm pretty proud to be the first one.

What did you think as you saw yourself for the first time in that commercial and on the posters?
That everyone did a great job. I like the dark, mystical atmosphere of the commercial that reminds me of movies done by German expressionists like Fritz Lang. Seeing myself Godzilla-sized on a billboard - this is very strange.

The spot tells the story of a random encounter between man and woman. Who seduces whom finally remains an open question. Therefore: Mr. Skarsgard, you are a Lady Killer in private?
No, I'm Swedish. We Swedes are not like macho men, but go for equal rights.

How was working with Lara Stone, who stars also in the commercial?
Lara is a cool girl and incredibly funny. We did a shooting together two years ago for "Vogue“ by Peter Lindberg, a great photographer by the way.

Please, answer very honestly. Which body part of Lara is the most sexiest one: her lips, her tooth gap or her breasts?
Her character!

So beauty is not that important for acting?
I think, if you want to be a good actor, vanity is like a burden. Imagine you have to play a character who is old or fat, that would be quite a problem, if you are a smugly person.

Would Eric Northman, your character from "True Blood", use "Encounter"?
I think he would be more into of a drop of blood behind his earlobe. That's more his style.

And Alexander Skarsgard?
I like the alluring, dark, woody scent. I don't like these fresh, citrusy fragrances, therefore it matches me very well. But in general, I rarely use perfume. The natural body scent works more like a turn on to me.

Do you remember the first time you used perfume?
Indeed. I was 14 and wanted to smell very nice at a school ball. A friend brought some different scents. I mixed all of them and sprayed myself from top to bottom with it. Thought that would be cool. It wasn't. I spent the rest of the evening sitting in a corner sad and all by myself. A life lesson learned: Less is more!

What is your favorite smell?
My Schnitzel last night smelled pretty damn cool!

And what scent do you dislike?
I grew up in Stockholm, not far away from a sausage factory. Unfortunately it doesn't smelled of fresh grilled Bratwurst, but pretty disgusting and rotten.

That's a lot of meat in your life! Which makes a smooth transition: What would you answer, if Calvin Klein would ask you to pose for their famous underwear?
We'll see!

Would it be a problem for you to be almost naked in front of a camera?
I do it constantly in movies and TV shows. So, no!

Dear Calvin Klein, we hope you read this!

Just looked Richard Neutra up BC. It's what you'd expect....sleek lines, minimalist and quietly elegant. Suits Skars to a T. The houses I looked at were really beautiful in their simplicity.
I googled them too :D .....and I learned, that there are many of these houses around Silver Lake, Los Angeles, simply because Herr Neutra lived there.

Did you Ladies realize that Alex mentioned a lot of German/German language artists of all kinds lately?!

Fritz Lang, Peter Lindberg, Max Schreck, Richard Neutra (well, he is Austrian, but that's kind of German anyway;)),.........it seems, that I would be the perfect match for Alex!
I'm a swedish German, got both passports + the U.S. green card, speak both languages + english and if I get drunken my french and latin are getting amazingly well, even though I don't understand what I am talking about :shame:
....but maybe he can't handle a grown up woman at his age, who's everything but beige! But a real redhead, who still jumps on furniture and climbs on tables while playing "don't tuch the ground" with her 3 + 5 years old godchildren :thinkin:

Zola, maybe we should think this "being part of Bags entourage" thingy over and come up with better plans?! Just to make sure that we don't blow our chances;)

For anybody looking for getting a sense of Neutra's style I recommend to watch A Single Man. The house George lives in is designed by John Lautner. John Lautner as well as Richard Neutra were both strongly influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, Lautner even being a student of his. Even though Lautner always rejected the idea of being a part of the International Style architecture (because "no one's as good as Wright") he kept his designs for private homes in this style as you can see in this movie. Both, Neutra and Lautner, liked to use big glass facades in those houses.

Yeah because Canadians, Americans and Brits are all the same too, right?

A Single Man = Colin Firth at his best

Here is a site with Neutra Houses in Silver Lake

.....and dear Bag, of course there a differences between Germans and Austrians but language-wise (besides the various dialects) and within the daily life not that much - but I just experienced the areas of Vienna and Graz, because my ex boyfriend lives there. That said, I always counted you as a smart girl, so I'm sure that you know pretty well what I was up for. :p

Thank you all for your good wishes ... probably helped because today is much better :)

Well, I said it because you're not the only one making those remarks. Lots of people can't tell Germany, Austria and Switzerland apart. We just need to look at Alex's answers: Fritz Lang, Peter Lindbergh, Max Schreck, Richard Neutra, Bruno Ganz. The only actual German of these is Max Schreck. Though I'm split on Peter Lindbergh since he grew up in Germany since he was a little kid. It's the same with everybody thinking Rilke was German. I'm sure you wouldn't like to be called Norwegian or Danish.
And I don't need to bring up the past to tell you why we'd like to be separated from Austria.

No, I haven't seen it before - so thanks for finding and sharing!

The words in the upper left corner says in Norwegian (wich I translated)
Alexander Skarsgård (36) is the eldest of eight siblings and wants to have a big family too. But first he has to get rid of his status as a sex symbol.

Thanks, ladies.:smile1:

The translations are great, KayLeigh.:smile1:
