The best part of that piece was where they've now dragged Stellan into the casting party... Although that would probably convince Skars to do it (forget that the character is adopted, mind you...)

That bit is unforgivable. However as much I love Papa Skarsgard, I can see him doing this. He seems to like putting himself out there. He did the daggy Dad/Boat Owner in Mamma Mia (which I watched) and now LvT's "The Nymphomaniac" (which yes I will see) so I can't really see anything stopping him doing this one as well.

My personal opinion though is that I do NOT want to see Daddy Skars and Alex play these roles in 50.

I missed Stellan's name, but I noticed they spelled Skarsgard Skarsgaard. At least they didn't confuse him with Peter Sarsgaard.

And since they just got the screenwriter it'll be months till it's finished and that means the speculation will continue for what seems eons.

Celebitchy hardly need an excuse to write about Alex but here's a post from October 8. Not sure if this is Kaiser or Bedhead writing the article.

Alex Skarsgard needs some under-eye cream in Rome: would you still hit it?

I’ve gotten to the point where I consistently want to bang Alex Skarsgard, but before I take off his clothes, I want to slather some under-eye cream on whatever he’s got going on there. I’m not one of those ladies who gets skittish about a dude who looks his age, or even older than his age. I love Michael Fassbender, for the love of God, and that boy looks about a decade older than his actual age. Alex is only 36 years old – some under-eye cream would definitely help, right? And then we can hit it. Anyway, these are some nice, new photos of Alex at the Rome Fiction Fest (?) on Friday. He looks really good – except for his eyes. He just looks exhausted. Probably from all of the Viking sex.

In other Skars-news, I kind of love how celebrities really have to sit down and do real interviews when they become “the face” of a brand. Alex is the current face of Calvin Klein’s Encounter, and not only does he have to travel the world promoting the brand (and talking about his love of sausage smells), but he has to sit down and give interviews to the Wall Street Journal about it too. Here are some highlights from Alex’s WSJ piece (you can read the full thing here).

Working with Calvin Klein and Lara Stone: “It’s my first kind of campaign. This felt like the right one because of a combination of things. First of all, Calvin is a great house. I was very flattered. Creatively, it felt interesting. I worked with [French art director and director of the short film] Fabien Baron, who is arguably one of the greatest art directors of our time and he’s behind all of their legendary campaigns. I’ve also worked with Lara Stone. Peter Lindbergh shot us two years ago together for Vogue and she is so great—so great—so much fun to work with and laid back and no ego, just very cool girl.”

Learning how to wear cologne: “Yeah, I do. I think the trick is in moderation. I think what’s very sexy is we all have our personal scent, kind of like our fingerprint, so unique. The trick is not to overpower that. You want the marriage between your scent and the fragrance. That creates something very sensual to me. As a young teenager I made the mistake of going all in and it was like a cloud. I was going to this disco when I was 13, like a school dance, and I just discovered fragrances. I had five different bottles and I thought they all smelled great so I figured that combining them was a great idea. I ended up alone, in a corner of the dance. People were 50 feet away because I was just a cloud of perfume walking around. I learned the hard way that less is more.”

He puts cologne on like a girl: “One spray of the fragrance, that’s kind of it. Wrists [dabbing his writs] and then bottom of my ears I do that [moved one wrist to one ear]and then like that [moved other wrist to his other ear].”

Going to “dark places” in his work: “I know. I need to talk to my shrink about that. I don’t know what that is about. What’s wrong with me?”

[From The Wall Street Journal]

There’s also an exchange where he’s asked about the rumors that he could play Christian Grey in a film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. Alex first says, “I haven’t read the script. I don’t think there is a script out yet.” When he’s asked if he’s read the books, he says, “No, are they good?” The WSJ guy says, “Uh, they’re something.” And Alex replies: “I like something.” Then Alex pretty much says that he would totally do the movie if they managed to give him a good script for it: “I haven’t read the books. I know how tremendously successful they are and how people are obsessed, so of course I’m flattered if some people out there wants to see me do that. But it’s difficult to say. Step one is always read the script for me. I get the script, I read it and then I feel something or I don’t. You either connect and you feel like this is a character that you want to spend a couple of months with or you don’t….” That’s basically a yes, I think. Which is disappointing. But I guess he’s being diplomatic too, like, he’s saying that we would never say “no” to anything without first reading the script.

It was Kaiser. And you'd think that as many times as she's posted on him, and as many photos as she's supposedly looked at she'd realize that Alex has always had circles/eyebags. They get worse when he's tired/drinking, but they're always there. They maybe photoshopped from mag shoots/ads but they're there.

As someone who thinks perfection is both unattainable and boring, I like someone with a slightly banged up face, a couple of life wrinkles here and there. His eye-luggage is appealing. He just has one of those faces if you dissect it, it's all wrong - the sometimes bulbous nose, his glorious fivehead, the eye luggage. But when you put it together you have this miraculously handsome man materialise.

Agree re the tired/drinking aspect.

Before I forget: Sydney...hope you are studying hard and hitting the books. Good luck with your exams, I'm sure you'll do great. Use your upcoming vacation as motivation.

This. On a feature by feature basis, he shouldn't work. But he does. And add in his personality and it's just that much better.

And I wasn't impressed with Kaiser's post on Alex, but her post on Liz Hurley/Shane Warne amused the heck out me.

He seems to be heading in a northerly direction, so I'm thinking Stockholm.

They have to. I know it's not as good as the series ended up being, but it was still a fun movie.

Now, if they could cast someone from Lost Boys.

As for the 50 Shades screenwriter, I wasn't impressed with her previous writing credits. But then the odds of me ever watching a 50 Shades movie are about the odds of the Cubs winning the World Series or me winning the lotto (I don't play).

Oh, okay. I'm directionally challenged right now so forgive me.:smile1:

Yes, I don't even have to add on, you summed up my thoughts on his fine flesh perfectly. I find that the best pics of him are the ones where he is completely natural; un-photoshopped. I just love all those wrinkles and crinkles.:D

This is what ticked me off about last year's Men's Journal cover, they Photoshopped the heck out of it (worse than any of his other covers). Yet, they've had Viggo and Daniel Craig on the cover and left them with all their wrinkley glory. I don't understand.

I also want a smiling cover one of these days. Yes, BroodingSkars can be very sexy, but I do love that goofy overbite of his.

If he gets to do a comedy like he keeps hinting at, we might see some truly awesome photoshoots, indulging in some Swedish goofiness :p He has an untapped left-of-centre humour I'd like to see in an English speaking film. I'm pretty happy with whatever photoshoots we get, as long as he stays away from Terry Richardson - who I like to call Creepy Uncle Terry or That Dude Playing With Himself in the Corner.

He's gross in a way that needs a new word to define it. *shudder*

This is what I'm hoping for. Maybe we'll get a little bit of it for any WMK photoshoots. Especially if they're with Onata.

When I started paying attention to him in the fall of 2009 I thought he was cute. But then I read an interview with him (can't remember which one) and fell, hard, for the sense of humor. And the goofy smile.

I don't understand why Terry Richardson still has a job.

Thanks everyone!! im studying hard and i want it to be over and done with.

4 exams within 1 week? wow, that's tough. Good luck for that.
What's your subject of studies?

btw: welcome back Free! It's always nice to read you

Im studying to be a pharmacist or as i like to say a professional drug dealer :p

Cool. Too much math/chemistry for me, but the pharmacists I know are cool people.

I know acting isn't a 'hard' job like construction work or mining or whatever, but he's worked an awful lot in the last 3 years or so and it does take its toll. I don't think it's a bad thing for him to not have an acting job until TB starts up again in January.

Totally agree. And did I, or did I not say that because I'm back, the drought would begin? :D

I'll have to play with Photoshop during the drought and put him in films and/or scenarios we'd like to see him in. Nothing too dirty ladies..the Mods will get me. I'm open to suggestion once we establish the drought has begun.

Syd, agree with Buckeye, good for you babe. The math involved would do my head in. My brain goes to Art, History and English.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does a little more for CK, but that may be it. But last year's drought began at this time, and that was a looong drought, so hopefully this one wont be as long.

Well, doesn't that take all the fun out it? :smile1:

There's a lot of math/chemistry/sciencey ability in my family tree, except it skipped my generation and went to the middle nephew and niece. I didn't even get the art ability. History/Political Science were the genes I got.

We can take it to the edge of good taste.....right to the edge. Happy? ;)
