I find it funny that they consider Los Feliz less celebrity-friendly than Hollywood Hills. *gag* Yeah right, because no one EVER gets pap'd in Los Feliz. Especially not at Little Dom's.

In earlier interviews he also said in which area he lives, is nothing new. Somehow wasn't pictures in front of his home;) Besides Los Feliz isn't a small area, it's as if he had said that he live in Manhattan ;)

Umm ... no. Los Feliz is not such a big area. It's smaller than Hollywood actually. So it's more like him saying he's living in SoHo, NYC. And given that most paps know where some of the celebs live that get constantly pap'd in Los Feliz and also the size of houses it's just a matter of process of elimination. But hey that's not my problem. He decides to talk about that. :shrugs:

Good morning everyone! Love the new GQ pics and article. Just coming out of Sunday night lurking to clarify;
I live in Los Feliz, and Bag, I don't think you understand how large and spread out LA is. Hollywood alone is more than 2 thirds the size of the entire island of Manhattan, and Los Feliz is larger than Manhattan is wide. SoHo is Just a couple few square blocks, it's tiny in comparison to Los Feliz. The area of Los Feliz would cover the West Village, the East Village, SoHo, Chinatown, the Lower East Side put together (and then some). Yes, alot of "celebrities" live around here, but I have never seen paps cruising the neighborhoods here. Unlike other areas of the city, it is very rare to see paps in Los Feliz. I have been going to Little Doms for years and of the many, many times I have been there I have only seen photogs once. There are a few "a-listers" that live right down the road from me, I drive by their homes everyday, and I have never seen any paps around, not even once. I don't think that Alex mentioning that he has a home in Los Feliz will put the paps on his trail anymore than they already are. I for one, and happy to hear where he lives. I realize I've been stalking----oops, I mean cruising- the wrong neighborhood in search of an early morning jogging Skarsgard. Gotta start driving around my own hood looking for a silver porsche. And no, if I do happen across anything, I will not take a photo, I may be a stan, but I do have a certain discretion. All jokes aside, some peeps really seem to be down on Alex for anything they can nit pick apart. The Bosworth bitterness is sooo 2010...

^^
I wasn't comparing the actual size of those two neighborhoods. Of course you have to see it in proportion. I'm aware of the fact that Manhattan is way smaller than entire LA but hey everyone has a car there anyway so it can't be that big after all. :p
Though you're bringing up the topic of him giving out way too much information for stalkers and stans since they can work with probably everything. And him being not a white blank paper in this department.
Well, JJ's posts on his blog mention Little Dom's regularly to the point where I think all the celebs can be lucky not to stumble over each other. Of course that's all just a subjective perception. I don't have to live there.
You just have to love these kind of lurkers.

DISCONNECT (D-) Boy, someone really liked Crash. Decently acted but impossibly glib Internet-themed after school special. #Venezia69

Disconnect is the best movie I've seen at #Venezia69 so far. Too bad it's not in the competition.

It's the first movie to have left me with something inside, this year. The other ones were cold as stones. #Venezia69

# venezia69 the face of the pseudo-critical # disconnect reconnects you with the cinema. Nothing new (what it is) but solid story good actors

#Venezia69, Disconnected | There's a scene near the end that left me puzzled. Precious. Bateman and Skarsgard fine.

Disconnect ... A well-researched storyline ... Perhaps long and sometimes a bit 'trivial ... But goes straight to the heart # Venezia69

Disconnect è un bel film su solitudine e responsabilità che usa il web come strumento narrativo #Venezia69

Disconnected, Venice Film Festival - review
Henry-Alex Rubin's edgy thriller issues a warning on the perils of the wired world

Andrea Riseborough, so good as Wallis Simpson in Madonna’s W.E., premiered at Venice last year, has her first substantial American part in this cyber thriller from Henry-Alex Rubin. She plays a young television reporter who, investigating a chatline on the net, finds a teenage boy prepared to do anything she wants for extra payment.

Engineering a meeting, she discovers a porn network not above employing underage kids, many of them from broken homes.

It is possibly unfair to call this edgy and intelligent film just a thriller, since it is clearly determined to be something like an awful warning to the internet generation. It is certainly dangerous out there in Disconnect.

A married couple with a son who will scarcely speak to anyone but his computer gets tormented on another chatline by two pranksters from school. So much so that, when he discovers the hoax, he tries to hang himself. A third strand of the film has a quarrelling couple discovering that their joint use of the net has left them with a $20,000 debt because of card fraud.Everyone’s trying to find out who the culprits are, and there doesn’t seem to be much hope of success.

In the case of Riseborough’s reporter, she has CNN wanting to take the story forward but also the CIA who tacitly accuse her of using illegal wiles to lure the boy into meeting her.

She has to be suspended from work and to promise not to see or speak to the boy again.

Rubin, who made Murderball, the Oscar-nominated documentary about wheelchair rugby, gives his first feature film the decidedly unsmooth, urgent look of a tale that needs to be told in today’s wired world. And his cast, which includes Jason Bateman, Hope Davis and Alexander Skarsgard, repay him with performances to match.

Riseborough, whose Mrs Simpson was the best thing in W.E., plays her part with the confidence of a veteran and her scenes with the teenager she rescues from a fate he doesn’t even recognise as dangerous are among the best in the film.

it was given 4 stars
