Few years ago, my husband and I was traveling through Europe and we took the train, me being a newbie on European train got my metis stuck between the closing door… I panic, mind went blank and I try to “yank” yes I tried to yank as hard as I can to pull the bag out… and my husband turn around and hit the “open” button… I looked at my poor bag that I just brought not long ago and looked at my husband and was like “WTF” hahaha I still have the bag, it survived , there is a little dent mark on it from me trying to yank it, but nothing to cry over and yes I still use the bag. So, yes I use my bag for traveling all the time. On plane, on train, on bus and all. It’s a bag, if I don’t use it who will??

All my luxury bags go directly under the seat on the plane. Even though I always bring LP when I travel it is usually folded in the suitcase to be used if I need extra space for my shopping (yay!) or wet clothes. I abuse all my bags, luxury or not. I put them on the floor (plane, train, bus, stations), on rough ground, etc. But LV is durable so Im not worried.

This thread is reminding me to pack a nice nylon shopping bag to put my LV crossbody in for my next trip because I cringe every time I have to put my LVs naked on the conveyor belt. I never put it on the floor under the seat -ew! If the flight attendant makes me put it down, I rest it on the tops of my shoes or between my legs until it can return to my lap.

on my last flight I packed all my lv bags in the neverfull gm and took them on board as hand luggage. I stowed it over my head there. my concerns before the last flight were whether I should pack my bags in the suitcase, so I decided against it. since I have only made 1 long flight because of my dogs, I lack the experience for this. I took the keepall with everything I needed for the 24-hour journey and put the hyde park in my suitcase. basically, I'm also of the opinion that bags are there to be used. I also put them on the floor and everywhere. if i was overly cautious i would only take my lv bags for special occasions. my car is also a commodity. I buy things to enjoy, to baby them would cause me stress.

If you are in the "baby you bags" camp, avert your eyes.

I took my chances and brought the Keepall 50 on an international flight. It is about 3/4 full, so somewhat maluable. It barely fits under the aisle seat. I had to shove it with my feet. I will not be reaching in for items needed in flight.

Is also doesn’t fit easily on top of my 22 “ Samsonite spinner. I have only flown with it before as a single piece.

I just found a Speedy 40 in Epi (so really more like a 42). I think that will make a better personal item for flight.

Maybe I will sell my mono 50, or not. Not sure.

I snagged a LC neo tote with crossbody strap from the Nordy sale too! I plan to use my new tote instead of my NF GM. The zipper top makes me feel a bit better when navigating through the airport. Have a safe and fun trip!
Oohh nice score! I agree sometimes it’s nice to feel like you have that extra protection. Hope you have a great trip too!

I’m currently in Europe traveling with my Alma BB and don’t even think about putting it under the seat or through security. I’m more worried about my LOVE bracelet going off in security. That’s been an inconvenience.
