I use my travel LV for travel. An Epi keepall and a 55 Pegase. On the TSA belt, on the floor, gate checked, whatever. It’s luggage. I try not to put my handbags on the floor, however. I usually fly with a small enough bag that it fits in the seat with me. Sold my neverfull in favor of the keepall for travel.

I used to travel with my Neverfull. Then one day, I put it into the security tray and had to wait to get padded down. Meanwhile the NF had passed the scanner and was sitting at the end.:hrmm: A woman begins rummaging through my NF, touching my leo scarf, and was probably looking for my wallet, which I had put in the little zipped compartment.:wtf:  I shouted at her to stop but couldn’t go there as I was still stuck in security.:cursing: I shouted and screamed louder that there was a thief and to help me. That got her attention and she slammed the bag down and left. :cursing: It was awful!! I prefer not to travel with such an open bag since.

I will be traveling in March so I now know not to bring my NF. It used to be the go to travel bag & have never experienced any problems but reading horror stories, I’d rather not. Instead I’ll take my speedy 35 as it holds a ton & is more secure. I’ll be taking my Felicie as my purse since it fits perfectly inside the speedy & I won’t have to worry if it happens to rain.

I travel with my NF GM. I bought a pre-loved one so I wouldn’t have to worry about brand new vachetta. I pack a crossbody bag, valuables and documents inside. I cover everything with a stole. I put it under the seat and just wipe it down later on. I’ve been forced to put it in the overhead a few times depending on the flight and that’s a bit nerve wracking but I find it to be a great travel bag. I just cinch the sides if I’m in a crowded place. I never check any LV’s except for a vintage Trousse Toilette.

Your neverfull will be completely fine for travelling, that's basically what the bag is best used for, there's no point spending so much if you're not going to use it for its intended purpose  I think mine has been on every single flight with me and I've done more damage at home than I have at the airport lol

I'm looking at a preloved Galliera GM which has a fairly rich patina and is fairly inexpensive for that exact same reason - it will hold a ton, be squishy to boot and I can relax and not worry about it.

I have a DE Neverfull but am considering getting a pre-owned Monogram for the exact same reason as you, plus I just prefer the look of Mono on the Neverfull.

Good Question...Also, I'm wondering, do you put your bags under the airplane seat in front of you? I travel with my neverfull, (which I love for travel) and it's a dilemma. :hrmm:
I cheat and hold my bag in between my legs, low down but not touching the floor so that the cabin crew are non the wiser. As soon as we are airborne I put it on my lap or in the seat next to me if vacant. I also always pack a light shawl to wrap around it.

I agree it’s a great travel bag! I’m not so much worried about the bag itself, as it’s old and has been through so much. I’m trying to figure out which of the two will be easier to take as a carry on with a toddler.

I think the Totally MM is actually the almost perfect travel bag. Zippered closure, handy, roomy side pockets and super comfortable. Think I may have to find one though will not buy new as want something I don’t really mind too much about.

Happily ? No. But I do travel with both DE and Mono. And would probably bite the inside of my lip too. However I travel with a lunchbox (I am an employee) and I have to bite my lip when they rummage through my food, swab my Cheeto bag for bomb residue, drop my reusable fork on the floor and throw out my sealed yogurt randomly. It’s just life. And we should try to move through it enjoying our bags.

I travel a lot. I see what happens on the plane. I try to remember to bring a little plastic bag to put on the floor under my bag under my seat. If I don’t I don’t stress though. I often travel with luggage under the seat in front of me. And don’t care. Luggage is treated as a germy item in my home. It doesn’t sit on my bed or counter tops. I literally drag it through the airport and into bathroom stalls. But my LV Handbags are more a part of my world. They sit on my bed. On my kitchen counter. It grosses me out to sit them on top of urine, fecal matter, dirt and vomit which is what is on peoples shoe soles.

I put my LV inside my LePliage then in the plastic box for security scan and under seat at that time. I would never put my LV on the security belt or even in the plastic box or under the seat on a plane. I don't put them on the ground period but that is just me.

Same! I always put my handbag inside my Longchamp expandable bag whenever I travel. The Longchamp then goes through for security and under the seat on the plane. The LC protects the handbag and also looks much more under the radar so is helpful for security purposes as well. The LC often ends up getting scuffs and marks from traveling through the X-ray machine/conveyor belt and sitting on the airplane floor -- I wouldn't want my handbags to get the same scuffs and marks. Plus I'm a germaphobe and like that the LC protects the handbags from the elements described in this thread.
