Airports....

For those of us who travel with their LV bags, I'd love to know your stance on bags and travel and or
airports. Do you happily place your bag into the security tray for X-ray etc or are you more cautious and pack your bag in your checked luggage to use once at your destination? I had to literally clench my fists and bite the inside of my lip recently when a female security person was rummaging through my bag with no regard for the vachetta - I'm laughing typing this by the way... I felt like yelling, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"... but refrained....

Good Question...Also, I'm wondering, do you put your bags under the airplane seat in front of you? I travel with my neverfull, (which I love for travel) and it's a dilemma.

I use my neverfull de when I travel, and it absolutely goes through security and under the seat in front of me. I might be more cautious if it had untreated vachetta, but otherwise, I don’t even think about it.

I travel with my Graceful, and it goes through security and under the seat in front of me. I got this bag to use it like that and I love it, it carries a lot and always stays the same. I would not do the same with my other bags, like DA Saintogne, that bag I use for different occasions.

I’ve travelled with my speedy 30 and Pochette Métis and both have gone through security. They always stay under the seat in front of me. I’m too nervous to place them in my luggage as a checked bag.

I use a keep all 50 and neverfull as my carry ons. They go through the scan belt, under seat and over head with no issues. They are made to be used.

People puke on the floor. They put used diapers down there. No way in heck I would put anything I cared about on the floor. I NEVER travel with LV unless it's inside my carry-on. If you pack designer anything and check the bag, you can kiss it bye. The TSA monkeys will steal it.

When I travel with my speedy B, it goes through security belt and on the floor, unfortunately. When I travel with my Pochette Métis, I put it inside my Longchamp Le Pliage tote and that goes on the belt and on the floor...

I use my neverfull and or my speedy. I do have a horror story that makes me think twice about this. My friend went to get her bag from under the airplane seat and it was soaking wet. The little girl in the seat in front of her had peed. Yikes! In all my flying this has never happened to me but it makes me think twice.

For bags with vachetta (as well as my Birkin), I simply put them in their dustbag for security and if placed under the seat.

That’s a bit exaggerated. I have packed Vuitton items in my checked luggage quite often and it arrived just fine. Not everyone is a thief.

I bought a new Neo Noe on my way to NYC a few days ago and on my way back, put it into my Neverfull when I was travelling home and put them under my seat on the plane. I only really baby velvet or lighter coloured bags, anything canvas and with no vachetta I don't really baby at all. I fell asleep on the flight home and woke up with my foot inside my Neverfull
