Love them both!!
I love mine! I found it at a thrift store for a little over $2. It's an old one but it works fine. I'm an Amazon prime member and they give one or two free books every month, plus you can earn rewards by choosing no rush shipping to get more books for free.On totally bag unrelated news - I finally broke down and got a kindle for my birthday. Read ebooks on my iPad for a while now, but this was too hard on my eyes. Fought three hours today with the tech stuff, but now everything is settled and ready to go.
Anyone else around using an e-reader?
Both are gorgeous, Ludmilla.
Well done!![]()
Thank you, dear friends.Love them both!!
Oh, you were lucky with your thrift store find!I love mine! I found it at a thrift store for a little over $2. It's an old one but it works fine. I'm an Amazon prime member and they give one or two free books every month, plus you can earn rewards by choosing no rush shipping to get more books for free.
Did you get the kind that lights up? Mine doesn't have a light. I'm a little worried that if it breaks down and I have to get a new one, I won't like the light.
ETA: I love having several books on it so when I finish one, there is always another one to read. And I don't have to hold it open like with a book.
Congratulations on your purchase, Ludmilla.Oh, you were lucky with your thrift store find!
I got the one called „Paperwhite“ and I think this one has a light. Tbh. I have not checked out all of its functions, yet.In the evenings at home I still read real books — as I have tons on unread books flying around.
I also like the idea of taking the kindle on vacation. And if you do not like the book you are reading or you have finished it you can easily skip to another. So yes, I have already stored several books on it. I am a book squirrel.![]()
Technically, I am on ban island, also. I am happily using the bags I own and my last purchase is only due to the workshop closing.I’ve been on ban island since March-simply because I have 9 bags, and a wishlist of 4 - all of which are very expensive exotics, none of which fit into this year’s budget.
I’ve managed it so far, I could probably manage on less bags, but don’t like selling at a loss, and no more to gift..I may gift one next summer for my nieces 21st, but I’m quite attached to the bags I have..my Mum(who has dementia), destroyed a designer bag I gifted her, luckily the other I gave her are intact..I’m devastated ..although I never want them back..
If I could sell some at a good price towards a new one I Would, but the resale market isn’t good, and I’d rather for now anyway hang onto them, for this year anyway..
Hehe. I fear I have more unread books than I could ever read in this life.Congratulations on your purchase, Ludmilla.
Better than a bag…..that you don’t need….![]()

Well, at least the others are intact, although it Was a shock, I admit..I’d had it for a few years and decided she’d like it-which she did..now it’s mashed and has a hole in it..boo hoo.., also I gifted an expensive bag to a dear friend for her 98th birthday, that probably wasn’t a great idea either(culling my collection)- now I’m very careful, which is why I don’t want to sell..if I gift I have to be sure..Technically, I am on ban island, also. I am happily using the bags I own and my last purchase is only due to the workshop closing.
I hate selling bags, too, and rather give them away to friends and family.
Sorry about the bag your mother destroyed, though. This is an awful experience.
As a birthday gift to a friend who isn’t into bags…I decided to get her a 500 page suspenseful book that she cannot put down…Hehe. I fear I have more unread books than I could ever read in this life.![]()
