She sounded & looked great on SNL! I love the brown fringe dress! The Hello skit was the best one. LOL!!!

I think she's her own person with her own sound. I don't compare her to anyone.

I agree.I put her in the same league as Joni Mitchell or Carole King because they are singer/songwriter legends who didn't need the studio fixing or whatever they call it. When I hear alot of singers today live, as compared to their albums, the difference is shocking.

Love her new album. It's refreshing to hear just orchestra and a voice. None of that auto-tune and over-synthesized backgrounds.

I agree!

She just stands there and sings, with that beautiful voice of hers. She doesn't need those voice correcting microphones (anyone hear Demi Lovato on stage, covering Adele's Hello with her voice correctly microphone ) and she doesn't have to be half naked and gyrating round, like the Disney girl-singers.

So, I find her refreshing too!

Adele is so vocally overrated. Whitney? Please. Artists these days are so mediocre that it doesn't take much to sound good.
And yes, the whitewashing of R&B is quite obvious to anyone paying attention. But there are some true stand outs who were born to sing soul.
Amy Winehouse was a true talent. Sam Smith is also the genuine article, imo.

Absolutely stunning on SNL. It always astounds me that huge, gloriously rich voice seems to come out of her with barely any physical effort (at least outwardly).

One of my favourites is still Adele making her debut on American TV on David Letterman,as well as this cracker, "Chasing Pavements" with Paul Weller of Style Council.

I wouldn't compare her to Whitney or Michael Jackson because I wasn't and am not a fan of either of them. Adele is her own person with a stunningly beautiful voice.

I don't even see the reason for comparison AT ALL. Music is like any art form, it's subjective. So telling me that this one or that one is better or doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath is just ridiculous IMHO.

People like what moves them. That is all.

All of this. Plus, I really like her accent - as in, she obviously doesn't give a hoot about how "un-posh-like" she sounds lol.

I agree!
