I will say after watching Lagerfeld Confidential, that it is obvious he is extremely intelligent. Now, if only he could use his intellect for something above these silly catty "mean girls" comments.

Don't give me these run of the mill, politically correct, cookie cutter responses and then talk sh*t when the recorder goes off like 95% of the world does.

It's taken out of context because, well, Lagerfeld made the remarks in a context. He said he was actually very fond of Adele. People are very sensitive about weight comments it seems, so they take this one sentence and make it a thread, or an article. Adele is not skinny and I personally think that's one of her strengths.

Interesting that 'we' are prepared to give karl a beating for saying something negative about someone else, namely a celeb but 'we' say negative things (and i have seen far worse than what karl has said) all the time about celebs on this forum. Why is it ok for 'us' and not him?

I feel this is different. These comments among many others he's given just seem to be very mean spirited. I mean I stopped getting down with Karl back in the day when he said a few blatantly racist things. This instance is different than me calling, say, Lindsay Lohan a hot mess.

Sunday night are the Grammy Awards.. Adele is making an appearance after

major throat surgery...was this the time to make a comment that was

so insensitive... fortunately Adele has a very positive image of herself..

and needless to say a magnificent voice... she is also going to be on 60 Minutees

with Anderson Cooper... Kaiser Karl should stick to designing and leave his

mean spirited comments on the cutting table where they belong!!

A designer who is supposed to care for the female body and want to make it look fab, should never say something that insulting about a woman. Besides, Chanel - the fashion house he works for and gets paid by- is a brand that women with all kinds of body-types wear and carry! What he said may have insulted many of Chanel's clents and potential buyers.

A little too fat for what exactly? Too fat to wear designer garbs, too fat to sing, too fat to exist.....what? That comment was just uncalled for. Nobody asked him his opinion on how she looks. He obviously just wanted to take a jab at her. I see the bytch in you Karl.

All people can make negative comments. The only difference is that Karl's comments will become news all over the world and as a result it will insult many women who have the same body type as Adele, while our comments don't become world-wide news headline! Besides, when a fashion designer as famous as karl says something like that it makes the statement sound much more serious than a comment coming from a forum member with a nickname!!! People will pay more attention to his comment than ours.

I don't get the uproar about Adele. He was just making another comment.
Let's face it. She is a big girl and she likes it that way.
Not everyone wants to be starving themselves for the sake of fashion:shrugs:

Not for nothing, Karl has been food deprived for quite a while, I would be uber bishy too, if I survived on yahourts, days in and days out.:laugh::broom:
