I'm following my heart.......I love a pretty halo! And the amount of time I spend looking at my ring confirms I'm making the right decision.
Aww Contesa congrats on your decision, your ring is lovely as is but my ering has a halo and I adore it so I don't blame you for wanting one, they just add such beauty to a diamond its amazing! I'm sure you will love it!!! Can't wait to see pics

I love rings with halos...ever since i saw it on one of my gf's IRL...it has always had a special place in my heart.

My engagement ring used to be a semi-bezel, but after seeing all the halos on here, I changed my setting to a halo.
For a while, I was kinda torn because the semi-bezel had such sentimental value, but I still have the setting. Maybe one day I'll find another stone for it & wear as a RHR.

The cathedral setting is beautiful (what can I say, I like my rings curvy), but if what your jeweler says will make it look like Leon Mege, then I wouldn't complain at all! I can't wait to see what this prototype will look like. Will you post pics when you see it??
NYC stated it in her other thread......I'm adding a halo to my solitaire. After seeing Kohl_Mascara's lovely Sola, AmelieinParis' beautiful halo, Risingsun's.....Natalie Portman's gorgeous bauble......the halo continues to haunt me!
Yesterday I tried on a sample ring at my Jeweller. It's a "cushion" shaped halo surrounding a round solitaire. Wasn't 100% sold on keeping the cushion shape....thought I'd do more of a "round" halo, but thinking about it and the comments Lily, Sjunky, and Kohl stated, perhaps I will add a cushion halo instead of a round.
I'm keeping as much of my current setting as possible which is a "double-claw prong cathedral setting"
Photos, thoughts, ideas are welcome. Most likely my ring will be dropped off by the end of the week, so I won't be spending too much time searching. I basically know what I want! But it's fun to hear other thoughts and opinions
Here's what I tried on yesterday. (there's NO airline or gap in this setting.....what you're seeing is my bad camera angle that eludes to one, but it sits tightly with no space)

I like the sample halo with your e-ring, I like the tacori look that shows very little gold, & I like Lily25's side details on that ring. I think it's a great idea you have to put a cushion halo with your round stone. just to be absolutely sure, did you try a round halo too?

Here's a couple of his + another I like and a photo of a halo for Laneige. Laneige see how the diamonds circle or make a "halo" around the blue stone?
