Oo thanks Swanky! I see it now - the curves/arching of the setting. I'm really interested in seeing your ring Contessa. I was agonizing the entire week my ring was being resized. . .I don't know how you're doing it!

Thanks Kohl. I haven't even dropped my e-ring off yet. Awaiting to hear back from my Jeweller's this week. IF I like/approve the prototype, then my ring will be left in their capable hands as I await my heavenly halo

Btw.....as I type this, I'm looking down at my current setting and loving it LOL

Cathedral or not, my beloved "double prongs" are NOT negotiable!

Leon's example here looks quite chunky.....not my style.

^ Yep....both look secure in my opinion.

I think it's just a matter of aesthetics. I actually fell in love with the cathedral setting on my new ring. Didn't think I'd love it this much!

Hmmm, I guess I just don't see how the 1st pics could possibly be more fragile than the 2nd{?} I agree w/ Leon about it.
Oh well!

Swanky, I LOVE the first pic you posted of the cathedral setting by Leon. Do you happen to know how much the setting is approx (without center stone of course)??

Well, the basket and things are large to accommodate such a large stone. Based on my appt w/ him and using the price I paid and allowing for the differences between mine and that one, I'd guess around $7k. What he does is a base labor price, then he charges per carat of melee that he has to use.

Thanks Swanky!!! I didnt even realize you were getting an upgrade? Is that what you're doing, or is it a whole new ring? Because your last upgrade to that beautiful solitaire was just stunning!!!!
