Adding a halo to my solitaire!

I'm urging you for a halo that follows the natural line of the center stone, you will not regret it. As I said in the other thread one of the old tricks to make the most of your center stone is a halo that follows the natural line. RB needs round halo, cushion needs cushion shape, and princess needs square shaped halo. Simple as that.
I have to look in my bookmarks for pictures with cushion diamonds & halos, and then post them for inspiration and mass drooling!
BTW there is a reason why the classic Tacori ring is so popular. It is one of the most perfect rings. It has inspired all the engagement rings for many years. I agree it looks clean and elegant. Very attractive indeed!
It is one of my many pictures that I used as reference for my jeweler to build my ring. Although my new ring was build quite many years after my engagement and wedding, I was a total bridegila with the task!
That would make me a ring-gila? Anyways I had this huuuuge folder with my own sketches, pictures from magazines, prints from the internet and jewelery catalogs.
Oh Lily....I must have mis-read your post. A round halo to follow my RB natural stone. Makes sense. Apologies for the hasty reading on my part- or lack there-of!

I love the Tacori too, but they tend to have an elaborate basket (which I don't care for), but the top views on them are spectacular.
Lily, I'm the same way with the sketches, magazines, pics online off the net......it's not a quick process by any means. If I'm going to do this, i'm going to do it right.

Contessa, is your stone is a cushion? I always thought it was a RB! Oops, says how much I know about diamonds! In that case, you DEFINITELY need a cushion shaped halo! It will look stunning!!! NO ROUND HALO lol.
Lily - You're an artist! I'm a control freak too, but in the case of jewelry/rings, I feel like I have no knowledge and I throw my hands up and give the jeweler the reins. But in the case of buying from Tiffany, you basically get what they have and there is not much customization involved. I love how active you were in creating your own ring - I think you end up getting what you love the most this way. I wish the basket of my ring had diamonds but there is no way I can ask Tiffany to add diamonds to it!

I love the halo but I would make sure it sits well with your band. You should probably bring that as well so they can make your ring according to how it will all fit together. I agree with the halo following the shape of the center stone. Also I would make sure for certain that you go to a jewe;er that does a lot of custom\ and design work so that you can be sure that the halo stones match in color, quality etc.
My current diamond (which I'm NOT changing!) is a ROUND BRILLIANT!!!!

So a round halo for my round diamond!! - Which is what I chose yesterday!!!! (have to give me some credit!!!)

^ I must've mis-read too! I thought she said you should get a cushion shaped halo. Then when she mentioned that you should halo that follows the shape of the center stone, I got really confused and thought you had a cushion.

Hahaha, we are all so confused, it's funny. I should really concentrate on my Constitutional Law class (I'm on tPF while in class - so bad!)
Lily is correct - round halo with RB would be a more desirable look since it is more streamlined and fitting BUT I just love the look of cushions while prefering the brilliance of round diamonds. However, I don't think Contessa can go wrong with either look!

Oh Goodness! Now It came to me that your old diamond was a cushion and the new one a RB. Gosh totally my mistake not yours! It was a long day today and I try to steal a few min to post here.

I'm waiting for my cushion diamond with the cushion halo to arrive (they tell me 7 Feb), but I wanted to tell you that I think that either a round halo or a cushion halo would look beautiful with a RB. I've seen numerous RBs with cushion halos - gorgeous!
Keep us posted and we want pictures when you get your angelic (haloed) ring!
