T’is the season to be jolly — and giving! Aaron Tveit is confirmed to appear (and bartend) at the 2013 Stockings With Care benefit. As part of the Celebrity Bartending Night, he’ll serve patrons drinks and raise money for the non-profit organization in the process. The event is to be held in two weeks – on Tuesday, November 19th (from 7-11 PM) – at the Hudson Station Bar and Grill in New York. A silent auction and raffle is also being held.
You can purchase tickets at the door for a $30 cover charge, or in advance (for a discounted rate of $20) by visitinghttp://celebritybartending.brownpapertickets.com. If you attend, be sure to tip generously: all tips made throughout the night are given to the charity as part of the 2013 Holiday Drive.
Other New York-bases television and theater celebrities scheduled to be part of the event include Jesse L. Martin, Danny Pino, Steve Schirripa, Carrie Preston, Phil Burke, Michael Kelly, with more to be announced.
Stockings With Care (SWC) is an annual event that anonymously grants the holiday wishes of homeless or near-homeless families. Over 1,500 children were surprised with their own Christmas miracle last year, receiving gifts from individual donors (“Santas”, corporations, and volunteers who purchase and wrap donations based on actual wish lists. This year is SWC’s 20th anniversary; to date, over 20,000 children have benefitted from hard work and support to those in need. Casting director Rosalie Joseph and producer Tom Fontana are the founders.

Aaron Tveit - Tough Mudder Challenge
This past weekend, Aaron Tveit competed in the annual event, Tough Mudder, in Charlotte, North Carolina. More than a marathon, Tough Mudder is an intensive obstacle course that tests “strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.” Some of the obstacles include scaling rope walls and crawling through mud, but there are even more hardcore expectations like dealing with ice water, fire, and even 10,000 volts of electricity. Check out a PDF of Charlotte’s course; if you want detailed descriptions (and pictures) of the obstacles, head over here.
ATN is happy to provide two pictures of Aaron from the event. The first is before the race, while the second features him with his friend and teammate after completing the obstacle course.
Although Tough Mudder is an extreme challenge, the event is overall a positive experience and a great way to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization that aids wounded post-9/11 veterans. If you’re curious about competing, you can check out Tough Mudder’s official site and registration page; however, be aware of how much physical strength and endurance you’ll need and approach the challenge responsibly (i.e. with training).
