Okay, the chatting about gallery totes have inspired me to pull out my Spring 2008 Gallery Tote (manufactured in August 2007). I got this at the June 2008 Yorkdale sale for 50% off from $228. This is my first khaki siggy handbag that I was afraid of using because (at that time I thought) shimmery khaki "C" print was so 'loud' and attention getting. I was more into the black/black siggy Coach handbags. It took me about 2 months to gather my courage to take it out.

I have gotten into all-leather Coach handbags and have neglected my siggy bags--especially this one. I went into my collection and dug this tote out and I am falling in love with it all over again. I put away my LV Batignolles Horizontal for this bag. I can't believe I got into the LV hype when this bag is just made so much better--the edgings of my BH are starting to crinkle and I've only carried it for a few days.

I really miss the Coach 'fishy' leather smell and this bag just smells absolutely yummy!

Thank you Baglady39 for opening this thread. Can we yellow stickie this thread so we don't lose it down the line in time? For me, I've subscribed to this thread so I won't be too worried.

I've feel the same way, glad you mentioned it first.

Hey Grayxie, long time no see! I think this place is fantastic. :yahoo: I miss ya 'older' Coachie gals. :hugs:

I felt pretty mindless last year as I as amassing my collection but I am so glad I did because I am mindlessly enjoying them now.

Awww...thanks T-girl!

I too miss the older gallery totes, IMO the patterns were so much more fun than they are now. At the time they were released I didn't have the money to purchase the tote, but I did manage to get the green zebra, and poppy wristlet. Last year I saw dog collars at the outlet that matched the dot gallery totes, but no totes were to be seen.

You're welcome Grayxie!

I am glad I voiced my discontent with the current Coach subforum--not the subforum's fault but Coach's driving need to keep churning out newer and newer styles without any feedback from their dedicated customers. Now I feel like I am back in the loop and quite happy to take out my 2008 gallery tote today.

this is my favorite thread!! baglady thanks for starting it.

T-girl.. I felt the same was as you! I'd spend just a little time here, because not many things of the newer collections are calling my name, so I took my money to LV and I also got the batignolles horizontal, which I love as an everyday bag, but the leather gets dirty easily.. and that is not pretty. Now I am re-learning to appreciate my awesome Coach collection!

I started buying coach in 2007, but even as a new coachie I drooled over the wonderful Mandy and the beautiful legacy satchel.. like lovecoachmore's HG.. I was lucky enough to score a bunch at the outlets, or Ebay.. so now I can share with you my legacy beauties.. these are the best bags I own!! :cloud9:
here are some pictures of what I have now:

Oh, I really love big bags and I am a petite girl.. but anyway.. I looked everywhere for this bag and it took me a while to get her, she one of my favorites, sadly I have only carried her 3 times because she is too heavy :sad: but she'll never leave my house!!

I lucked out somewhat recently and scored a Ergo Tote in black leather with the legacy lining. I had wanted it FOREVER, and actually had one that was stolen from my front porch after delivery. It took me FOREVER to find the bag again..but I did and I LOVE IT!!!

xxx
please do not ever mention selling.

I hate to say this (and it's NOT always th case) but I can't believe what some of these legacy bags are now going for. I sold my cousin my walnut shoulder bag for the exact amt I paid for it. Ofcourse that's family so there's the case with that. The thing is though, that when I sold my LEIGH I actually sold it for a VERY FAIR PRICE and still put a little money in my pocket...but my JOY with that sale came from giving the buyer a bag she had been hunting for in the right price range forever!!!

I know that everyone wants to make some $$$ on their bags, and HEY that's A-OK with me. I just wish some of the true COACH lovers would kinda share the love when it comes to a bag that someone has been hunting and stalking. I had it done to me....I did it for 2 OTHER'S! Kind of a pay it forward kinda thing! KWIM?!

There's gotta be a better way for all of us to hunt and score the bags we crave then prices that get jacked up on the bay by "fair wheather" Coachies.

Anyone else feel this way??? Not to be a Debbie Downer, I guess I just wish that those who have loved and stalked a bag for a year (if not longer) could catch a break!!! Like the breaks I've given others!!! Not to bash newer Coach addicts, but it seems like with every new Coach fan...the HG's that some of us have had and stalked for months and in some cases years get further away because when these newer fan's see that it's so many people's *HG* they make it there's too!!!!
Going from stumbling into an outlet and buying nothing but MFF signature bags (nothing wrong with those...I own/have owned some) to wanting a Mandy within 2 weeks. I feel like their due's haven't been paid. Anyone know what I mean??? I know I sound like I'm coming off with a nasty attitude and that's SO not my point. I'm having a hard time articulating this, so please don't ANYONE be offended!!!!!

I just feel like ALOT of us have put in alot of time loving these bags, and now we can't get them used for much less then what the original MSRP was!!!

So, to brighten this UP, here's my Ergo tote that I LOVE!!!

Lovecoachmore ~

I get your point about "older" Coachies getting their favs snatched up by the Johhny-come-latelies. I'm probably in the latter category myself, but I think it comes with the territory. That Bleecker in my avatar, the one I wax poetical about (step back, woman, I tell myself, it's JUST a PURSE) I wouldn't have known a thing about if I hadn't seen the one posted by someone who's been around longer than I have. You can't expect to have posts here about people's favorites and the "ones that got away" & not have the rest of us catch the fever. Sorry, no can do.... Hopefully we just don't trample on each other too much.

I agree though, I do wish there was a better exchange mechanism than ebay & even Bonanzle.

:smile1:

I love this thread! Thank you. I'm not a fan of the current styles. I always seem to come late to the party. Wish I was around during the 06/07 Legacy & Bleecker.

*Besides Sabrina! - She brought me back to Coach.

That's a fantastic Legacy collection you have there MBParcia! ITA the Batignolles Horizontal gets dirty very easily. I am a little miffed at LV for getting a bag that gets dirty and wrinkly so easily when I could get 5 really great quality handbags from the Coach outlet that won't do that.

^yes, burb3rrylov3r, I loved all of those bags you just mentioned. I just spent a ton of time on wayback machine and saw all those poppy bags! I also saw a white demi with the mulitcolored polka dots in real life this past weekend!

And the multicolored wave totes and hobos were great. I even liked the chevron bags. And what about the bubble tote:

Sorry, I like wacky bags

Don't say sorry these are way cool bags very fun and unique. I have the Poka Dot tote but had to send it in for Repair and I do not know which way it will go.

My oldest bag is my Black Patent Gallery Tote from 2004 #1432 (pictured with an Op art Pouch). This is one of my "Go To" bags for Fall.

I also love my 2007 Soho Metallic Satchel in Pewter #10597 (pictured with my Metallic Bridget). I wish Coach made more Pewter bags.

I am still hunting for the ever hard-to-find Platinum Metallic Lily and the first Canvas Resort Tote in Vermillion (#11535). I keep stalking E-bay for these two bags :D
